ii am not a gamer but enjow watching these wonderful techicologically artistic productions. i am however very experienced with ariel targets and ground targets. your eye can focues at the rate of about 26points per second and your brain can interpolate a lot faster than that but the lag time between target recognition/ horizon/attitude/closure rate/,etc. is what causes a shooter to not hit every time. the more one can practice with the same gun platform configuration the higher the score until one achieves autonomic perfection. at that point you will achieve enlightenment and can search for a mate. good luck to all..........r.g.w.

@Chuck Owl thank you very much for your priceless guides. I am going to buy my first module, and I fear the 30 mm cannon has low utility in dogfight. Am I wrong?I'ld get the D9 instead because I think aiming is better, as is better the quantity of ammo.

The Bf.109 and Dora are both very, very good planes, especially against the Mustang, Spitfires and Thunderbolts you'll be going against. The 109's 30 mm cannon is by no means useless; it really packs a punch of used right.

perhaps the gunnery is´nt the problem, think the damage modell is´nt good at all. in real 2-3 hits from a 20mm (Minengeschoss) explosive shell was enough to bring a P51 down. But it´s ok for me, DCS is a very good and deep sim for flying and cockpits.....impressive stuff.

Even the mighty Yo-Yo himself acknowledged that the damage model needed some work. Who knows what DCS 2.0 will bring?

Maybe that's just me, but I prefer having the fixed Revi sight and doing adjustments myself, I find the Dora's sight finnicky

TheSkipjack95 The way you see the gunsight being used in this video is not very useful when you are dogfighting. The technique shown here is only useful if you are going against heavy bombers like the B-17, which had to be engaged from greater ranges (in order for the Luftwaffe pilots not to be shot down by gunners).

2:35 The manifold pressure is way too high (1.6!). Either a pilot or a simulation problem. Real Dora-9 pilots flew her between 0.9 to 1.2 ATA. *Always.* Also in dogfights. Ok, except for landings. Then it dropped even below 0.9 They hardly ever used her boost, for it wasn't necessary at all, as well as they never flew RPM but only after the before mentioned manifold pressure, always making sure they wouldn't exceed 1.2 ATA. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pqeupGyMgbqWeck

I thought K4 can go up to 1.98 ata, cannot imagine D9 competing against Allied opponents while running on only 1.2 ata.

How do I arm bombs in the D-9, The flight Manuel is not helping, neither the forums.

Who in their right mind ever said the Dora's cannons were weak? lol I mean, they must be someone that's never flown US planes and seen how the .50's are nerfed. lol Also, I always hate using a gyro sight. The P51 is a good example of one I don't care for, but the one in the Dora is nice and I really like to use it. It isn't all over the place like the one in the Mustang.
