DCS UH-1H - tips and tricks to hook cargo

I had a lot of problems hooking loads in the DCS Huey and it was extremely frustrating. But after a bit of practice, I found a few tricks that makes this task easier.
The key for me is to pulse or tap the cyclic forward and backward when in a trimmed semi-hover close to the cargo. These slight and rapid movements give you the forward and backward control to stabilize your hover over the cargo long enough to hook it.

Great tips mate. Have you tried any of the older force feedback joysitcks (eg. MS Sidewinder or Logitech Force 3D) with helicopter flying in DCS?

Thanks for watching! I haven't been able to try any force feedback sticks with the Huey, but I hear that the MS Sidewinder FF is great with it - if you can get your hands on one, that is.

I have a Logitech Force 3D coming that I found in perfect condition second hand. It should help to simulate the Force trim and mag hold better.

You can hook while landed, you don't have to hover to hook
