I would agree but not being a real pilot and then see the difference of the aircraft could do before and after the update opened my eyes to see that it did need a lot of help

Hinds are really, really tanky I swear. I've shot Aim-9x's at them multiple times and they never go down.. I strafed one with my A-10's cannon and it somehow survived the 30mm... (IN DCS)

I love Hind hunting with MB-339. However I’ve put zunis on their rotor heads without noticeable damage, so it’s definitely a little too tanky.

@@DTMCRAZYGAMING Absolutely! It’s a monstrous dogfighter once you get the hang of it. I have several Frogfoot kills, and maybe half a dozen MiG kills. My go to load out is the cannon pods, with zunis.

I really love what they did with it, I couldn't stand the old FM so it just sat in my hangar.

The L has a laser rangefinder… you just need to flip the switch cover up, same as the M. The sight can also guide HOT3 missiles - they're a lot more than binoculars!

True but at the time of this video release. They didn’t have the extra laser features. Later updates had them add these features after I released the video

Was that the correct way of flying for the Hind pilot? He very much looked like he was flying a plane; I would have expected more use of the tail rotor, to spin and bring the nose to bear faster...

Believe it or not, the hind is much better at flight at high/cruising speeds. Making it almost feel like you’re flying a plane. It’s much harder to keep it at a hover

Recommendations on trying to take this beast off now that they "fixed" the flight characteristics? Seems like now can't take off, even with fuel less than 50 and HOT3s.

I tend to take 30-40% fuel. Make sure you’re doing a translational lift takeoff rather than just trying to go straight up under heavy loads. There’s definitely new issues but overall I much prefer it now.

The devs felt compelled to make the gazelle as prone to settling with power as all the other choppers in DCS, in order to match expectations for “realism”. It’s a unrealistic as it was before, but in the other direction. And in both extremes you have SMEs claiming the flight model is accurate. That being said, you can take off with 100% fuel if you use translational lift.

You can always try most aircraft on DCS with a 14 day free trial to see if you like it or not... I would give the Hind a try next. That way you have RED and BLUE team aircraft.

May i be misyaken something, but the gazelle doesnt have flare/chaff right? Not even in pods if i revall correctly

It has flares. The controls are just under the collective, you need to turn them on and lift the cover on the collective even if you have a counter measures fire bind on your HOTAS.

What mod do you use to make red triangles over targets?

It’s not a mod it’s something I do in postproduction. And make a triangle shape and have a track target. I use adobe editing software to make my vids

Belts of .50 and your smaller armament and he shrugged it, why i refuse to even look at helicopters as ground targets unless im hitting them with JDAMS stationary. yes, the hind has tons of armour, and is practically build to be able to handle ground fire, but the damage this bird takes and walks away from is unparalleled to anything ive seen aside from AI damage modeling. I'd expect at the least some structural damage in the tail on his snappy turns or a leak of something other than fuel.

ok if this is an improvement I cant imagine how it was before!!! I just did the trial for it and I cannot fly this thing at all. I can hardly get off the ground and I crashed every time! Just to be clear, I own the Apache, Huey, Hind and Mi8 and can fly them all very well! This thing is a piece of shit!!!

I put the fuel around 50% to 60%. Makes a big difference
