It's absolutely amazing how making a few simple changes mission editor can have such a huge impact on the visual Fidelity of the game's environment. It's a shame that the stock instant action missions and training sorties all start at a time of day and year with conditions that are straight up the worst looking you can get; and for most players this will be their first 100 hours in the game - dog-water looking missions. I wish it was legal to just modify all the .miz files and re-upload them to ED forums... but I can't since lots of missions are paid.

The trick @TrulyCark isn't exactly the graphics settings. It's the mission settings. Let me explain: Most missions are set by default to start in Summer at 12:00PM with no weather conditions. That means all weather FX are disabled, all clouds, all fog, all rain and because of the season and time the sun will be *directly* overhead shooting *straight down* (read: No shadows will appear on almost anything). No matter what your graphics settings the game will look like balls under these conditions. All you gotta do is open the mission in the mission editor, change the date and time to something nice, like Autumn or Spring closer to sundown/sunrise, add a cloud layer, add some rain. Boom. Game is picturesque now. 👌

Something about the canopy looks 2D and the "hat" switch or head movement you are using distorts and isn't naturally smooth looking. An actual head moves smoothly. Betins that, it looks terrific. The money spent on this is a whole orhet topic, whilst humans suffer but. amazing stuff abstractly. As a hypocrite, I do own a crapload od Nvidia and AMD stock, so.."Go consumerism!?". As a caveat, Top Gun was a great movie. Top Gun Maverick made me physically and mentally beyond nauseous! ;) F-14...Nothing like 1960s technology. "You were ordered to land your plane.". Hong Kong etc. All my BS aside - Well done
