Hey DCSG, figures like Wolverine and Supes CAN bend forwards and backwards at the waist, not just side to side. That's why it's on a ball peg, so it can roll in all directions. But Mafex usually puts really tight connectors on the abdomen and the chest, so it's not always fixed by the hot air/water trick. I suggest applying a little silicone shock oil to where the ball meets the connector. It fixes almost all of my problems with super tight and squeaky joints. Hope this helps someone!

You know, it's pretty stupid that these figures are considered premium and the paint is flaked off by the simplest rubbing/posing. They have no excuses, at all.

On the hush Superman I think the broken arm issue is because alot people try to pose Superman doing the iconic pose where he straggles Batman and its very hard to do because it doesn't pose right when you put his arm and hand on Batman's throat.

So are mafex figures purely made for display? I’ve always bought marvel legends and those are pretty durable but recently I started buying mafex for the boys figures and I’ve noticed they look great but feel cheap like anytime I move the arms they feel like they will break I find it weird that the more expensive the figure is, the easier it is to break

Mafex has improved a lot throughout the years so they are not made for display. Yes, I would say they are delicate but not as durable as ML.

My Mafex Hush Superman’s hips and waist were extremely tight out of the box. I had to lubricate the hip ball joints with bathing soap and water TWICE and thank god it’s fine now, I can even bend the waist joint up and down cuz it’s been greatly lubricated since

One advice is to use liquid vaseline on the joints that make a sound, in my opinion the joints should not make a sound when you move them, it is a sign that they are too tight and can break over time. I did that with the brown wolverine and Hush superman and it went great. Sorry for the Bad English.

Sorry to hear that… if the joint is too tight when you tried to pose the hand, try to remove the hand from the peg, then try loosen the peg by moving it around

Another thing you can do is heat up the joints with hot water or a blow drier to loosen them up.

Its crazy to think people pay 3-4 times as much as a marvel legends for these mafex figs. They certainly are not 3-4 times better in quality.

The reason why mafex spiderman wrist joints breaking is because the other hands that comes with the figure the peg hole is to small so people force it to much so that's why they break it. 🙂

Hey wish I found this earlier. You wanna soak it in vinegar for 30 mins. Add baking soda and Dawn dish soap. Gently scrub with a toothbrush. Dry it off. Fill a bag or container halfway with baking soda. Place the figure and fully cover with more baking soda. Leave for 3 days. This will draw out all the damage the penetration of the smoke cause and keeps the smell from coming back over time.
