Very different way to achieve a fade. That was clever to paint over the grey base color and still allow lettering to show through. Well done.

I see rust buckets year round because I live close to a salt mine that use those AEX, RMGX covered hoppers to ship salt. These can be seen in the few videos I have on my channel, some on groups on Facebook, a lot of the AEX salt hoppers are ex-CNW cars that still have the CNW herald on them. And since I am modeling where I live, I have to make a lot of those rust buckets.

Dan,have you tried Clear Matte Finish from Rustoleum ? Far cheaper clear coat than Testors.

I wasn't impressed. I have a can, but I don't use it much. The issue is it splatters real bad. I tried a few things but I kept getting that issue.

DansRailroad2011 I agree with that. Krylon is somewhat better but Testors is still the best.

if you need it, I have a heraldking decal set....you can have it if you are going to make another....a lot of these Anderson Cars wound up on the Chicago Central and Pacific in 1985-1987.....CN is reselling them...I use to model CC but don't anymore....have no need for this set...
