@bluesrike3 жыл бұрын
What do you think of a DCT-swapped Skyline GT-R though? There's a shop out in Norway called HPR Tuning who made a DCT swap kit for the R32-34 and it retains the ATTESA all-wheel drive.
@philspaghet3 жыл бұрын
@@bluesrike i still hold the same opinion. Is rather have it retain a 3 pedal transmission, at least like a sequential gearbox
@bluesrike3 жыл бұрын
@@philspaghet I'm of the controversial opinion that if I had a R34 or any RB-era GT-R, I would DCT it for 2 reasons: 1. Keeps it on par with modern supercars. 2. Probably the more important reason: There will come a day where there will be no more Getrag V160s left, same goes spare parts. When that time comes, GT-R owners will have to make a decision: Keep your cars in storage, which I'm pretty sure everyone will object to or replace it with a sequential that's makes it tough to drive on the street or go DCT.
@philspaghet3 жыл бұрын
@@bluesrike I don't think that needs to be the case. After all these cars are so popular that even Nissan is remanufacturing parts. And even so we will have aftermarket options for transmissions. No one uses Getrag V160s anymore if they didn't come stock with their cars. Most high power manual Japanese cars I see end up using T56 GN transmissions or newer CD009 Nissan transmissions in the US where I live. Going with an expensive BMW M4 DCT instead of a faceplated custom race grade T56 for the same price is silly not to mention there are kits and shops who will convert a T56 or TR6060 into a sequential. And the weight and complexity of the M4 DCT is also a detriment in comparison. I assume you're in Europe but I'm the US, we have lots of high horsepower parts for muscle cars, we just adapt those for Japanese cars if need be.
@philspaghet3 жыл бұрын
@@bluesrike the biggest reason DCT cars are faster than manuals is gear ratios, if you custom spec a T56 like i said and add no lift shift you can remove a lot of delay and save weight before going sequential
