I find both funny and sad that Jane was born from Miranda's mistake and doesn't even remember it. And after seeing this flashback I can understand a lot of Jane's hate, especially towards men now. She was created as a means to prevent the main body from being attached to another Male romantically again so they wouldn't be hurt. Baby doll was innocent love and scarlett harlett is just Incredibly lustful, but miranda jeopardized everything. Of course it's not her fault the man she loved suddenly became a piece of shit and making it seem it's her fault for not fitting in, but they were already in a position where they just couldn't have a normal life. Even before this moment, you can tell she was having internal debates with everyone for the sake of her own selfish desires which were probably just trying to help Kate have a normal future, but she still pushed it herself. And if I'm understanding this correctly, this was way before her powers started coming in so she's just a normal woman
@lucasgray14924 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure it was before her powers. Because I'm pretty sure Jane was the one who was primary when she was injected and experimented on. I always wondered how Jane became primary. I feel bad for all of them including Miranda. She thought she was healing them, it wasn't her fault that the man she was falling for turned into an asshole. It wasn't her fault he became awful. She deserved better than him way better.

No, Jane was the first personality to be born, remember that. This was shown in the first season. This was just the moment she became the primary personality.
@necro_nancy4 жыл бұрын
@@thefvguy5648 You're mistaken. Miranda was seemingly the first to be created. Jane was only created after the suicide (if you can call it that) of Miranda, because Kay needed a new primary; which is why Jane doesn't have memories of their early life.
@thefvguy56484 жыл бұрын
@darthsock86 No you are the one mistaken, if you remember in the episode of season 1, Jane Patrol, we see the moment Jane was seemingly created. The day Kay’s father took her away from finishing her puzzle piece. It was here where we discovered that Jane isn’t the original personality and also the fact that she was created by Jane to take her place in suffering. This explains Jane is so afraid of Kay’s father in the first place. Sure, the other personalities might be afraid of him too, but Jane seems to be the one that’s extremely afraid of him. Also, no, Miranda was not the first personality, remember the exorcism flashback scene, we see Kay jumping from different personalities before we see the first supposed manifestation of Miranda, so she’s definitely NOT the first personality.
@alexisvargasm4 жыл бұрын
you really needed to watch that episode to understand that? Did you watch the pilot? They've literally shown over and over that this is the story of an abused girl who creates these personalities to protect herself. Pretty much what every person who has gone through that, do at some point. And I think it's completely irrelevant who came first, Jane or Miranda. They both represent really different times and aspects of the girl's life, and the needs and processes she thought she was ready to go through. What's important here is that they're exploring the side of abuse when the victims internalize the message and the vision of themselves that the abuser imposed, and the war against that begins. Because, in the end, Jane was right. That was never about "love", whatever that is, it was about control and ego.

@@Bella-bj8qm Jane *after the experimentation* did get her power but she didn't know what it is till recently (in the comic book) and it has been confirmed that Jane has the ability to heal. @MiguelGonzalez-du8de4 жыл бұрын
I think the inmortality thing has to do more with the fact that personalities do not age. Niles set all the characters' accidents so with Jane he just searched for a girl with multiple personality dissorder and injected her with the meta gene. Kay can't age because right now she's just another personality of the bunch, so unless all personalities die and Kay becomes her own person, she's going to be inmortal for a long time.

@Black Canary Why are you hypothesising though?? In the comic book Jane's ability is to heal. It's already canon. No need to create your own theory. Unless the TV show decided to change her power which I highly doubt.

I understand that Miranda screwed up, but kinda blame the other personas. When she really needed them, they abandoned her. Which lead to her killing herself, and gave Daddy the opportunity to take over. Being primary really sucks. Because it's not just the girl they take care of, but all them as well. Jane most of the time has to clean up whatever the others have done. Jane and Miranda carried all the responsibility. Of course they had a breaking point. They should all work together. They may be different personalities, but they are still an extension of Kay. Different pieces of a puzzle. Perhaps the only way Jane can move forward is to forgive herself. Not just her but all the others.

We saw this ish happen to Jane when she fucked up, and now we've been shone a light on the *EXACT* same thing happening to Miranda in the past. Jane and Miranda had a hundred different people yelling them what they wanted, but they never had anyone _they_ could turn to. They were expected to just know and do without input from anyone else. I kinda wish the other personalities het called out and there's actual change.

Yes! Thank you! The other personas don't understand that being primary is so much work. Jane and Miranda got the brunt of every horrible thing that happens to the body. @athousandandonenights114 жыл бұрын
Cause it was easier to just trust her. Jane was a mess at the beginning of the season constantly doing drugs. ties Laro Miranda didn’t get them raped, she and the others got raped. She was just looking to live a normal life, be happy, she didn’t actively seek a dangerous situation to put them in. Most of the personas have a specific role, they wouldn’t do well as a primary. Jane and Miranda seem to be two of the only ones who have more well rounded personalities and can deal with the outside world. They did try to send some others above and it just didn’t work. is this considered rape? even though miranda didnt want to cheat, she went along with it. even though kay is the host body, miranda is the main primary voice. this was altered from the comics slightly but just like in the comics, this sex act triggered bad memories of when kay was molested and it caused the other personalities to come out. one personality seemed to enjoy it and some of the others didnt. i wonder if this is rape cuz does it really matter what the other personalities want, if miranda is the main primary in charge? so im just confused.

I think it wouldn't be considered "rape" but it was for sure sexual coercion which is still really bad. He had planned ahead put her in a situation that was incredibly hard to say no to and then criticized her when she felt uncomfortable. Consent isn't just not saying no its an emphatic and enthusiastic yes or its a no over all.
@daddybendover694 жыл бұрын
@@MrWhiskeycricket I think you're ignoring some facts here. Most rapists dont even get convicted so the idea of men being accused of rape ruining their lives is usually 1. not a false claim of rape and 2. usually does nothing to impact their futures. So the argument of being scared of that future isn't as worrying as one might assume. Essentially you saying all bad sexual encounters could be prosecuted as rape is not supported by past evidence and is also a slippery slope logical fallacy. Secondly, men may never be in a situation where a woman says no and he ignores her. However, there is studies that have asked women about committing to sex acts they fully felt uncomfortable with and wanted to say no to. The fact of the matter is women have to worry about mens reactions and their propensity for sexual and physical assault of women. We as men have to ask ourselves if we have ever been in a situation where a woman may have felt scared or uncomfortable saying no and as the gender with the most history of violence we should take preemptive action to make sure our encounters are consensual to the max. This may have not been rape but it was sexual assault (lets forget that the rape vs sexual assault distinction was established to have men actually convicted of a crime because almost no courts were giving out rape charges during the womens rights movements of the 60s and 70s. Rape charges started out as a property crime i.e. it was a crime to assault the property of the father or husband). Lastly, saying no means no and yes means yes is ignoring that women can retract consent at any time and ignoring that no didnt always mean no. It was legal for men to rape their wives. The definition and the complexities of sexual violence are expanding and mutable and to make such a rigid statement makes me question the intentions of the person. You shouldn't have an issue with doing your best to make sure women and anyone isn't being traumatized during sex.
@daddybendover694 жыл бұрын
@@MrWhiskeycricket dude I'm not saying its rape but it is sexual coercion which is a form of assault. And yes no one is able to give consent while drunk but you judge that on your own. If you think you were coerced into sex then yeah you're a victim of sexual violence my guy. Sex violence does not start and stop at forceable penetration. Yeah she made the decision but she was manipulated into it so to say shes an adult get over it is discrediting thousands of people who have trauma from this type of sexual violence and maybe your experiences never scarred you but that's not the case for others and your personal opinion doesnt change the fact that sexual violence is much larger than your definition.
@daddybendover694 жыл бұрын
@@MrWhiskeycricket no dude I'm saying no one is able to give consent when drunk. The issue lies in a pervasive rape culture that basically indoctrinates men to see sex as dominating women when it's not. I'm not infantilizing the women because no one can give consent when drunk. If you have sex when drunk and consider it consensual then I'm happy for you that it didnt affect you but theres tons of men and women who have been rape because they were drunk. If someone was roofied or sedated at a hospital or even just high on heroin then you wouldn't consider them able to consent, so why do you think alcohol is all that different? Unless you plan to or have taken advantage of a drunk person then I really dont see the problem here. NO ONE is able to give consent while drunk, the only reason men never admit that a sexual encounter was traumatizing is because of toxic masculinity and everyone seeing it as weak when men dont want sex. That's the whole reason why Male rape victims usually dont report. So the issue doesnt stem from infantilizing women (which is an issue in the porn industry and such and that is a valid conversation to have) but to say that someone who is in an impaired state has the ability to give consent doesnt make sense. I'm not talking about having 1 beer I'm talking drunk and anyone who has sex like that then I hope it doesnt scar you but theres so many people who it does. People who have coerced and manipulated into having sex when their ability to reason has been impaired. If you think that's okay then I question what action or actions you're trying to justify.

@@DrowsyKodi I am a system and I think Doom Patrol did a horrible job. It looks like they skimmed a view wiki articles about DID and then used everything about system life for supernatural horror, trauma porn, and shock value. It was inaccurate and offensive at best. The use of language like “primary”, the constant disrespect of Jane’s alters (ie only recognizing Jane as a real person who belongs to the team), the way they used magic powers to travel inside her system, which is dangerous rhetoric in the system community because it rings of manipulation. The alter death, again, the pure shock value.. I am sick and tired of DID “representation” being explained by magic powers, triggering content nonstop, and system switching being shown as erratic, chaotic, and violent. It sucks.
