I 100% agree with the fact that the most important thing is to have fun. If that means you like to be on the top of the charts every single time, go for it. As for me personally - back in the day I never watched any videos on YT on how to troll/dps and spent hours in the lab, testing stuff (even before the built-in parsers were a thing) and I believe I did very decent. But I get it if someone just need to hop in and demolish stuff without hesitation and wasting time with the sparing targets :) Great video, bud!

Fun above meta, that is what i aways say. If you are playing a game and feel bad for not being in the top because you are not playing meta, the game completely looses it's purpose: entertains you.

Well said, sir! I don't want to be top DPS, I like experimenting. It's good to know what does and doesn't work in terms of solid, reliable performance. I let those who want to jones over the latest "trick" combo or swap do it, I just want to get on with playing.

I've never played by the meta in this game and I've always been near the top or at the top of DPS leader boards. As long as you test powers on a practice dummy and use power interactions, you'll be fine. SP, artifacts and allies can also help make up the difference.

Good to hear non meta isn’t super crippling for some powers. Shame that Nature is my favorite power though since it’s on the weakest list. Any chance you’ll do a video on it soon to show what if any load outs are decent with it?

@@iEddyGaming the dots are fun but what really does it for me is the animal stuff. Being a beast man turning into a werewolf or gorilla roaring and smashing stuff is something I wish every game had.

You are right. The animal stuff is unique and definitely awesome. But honestly, like I said in the video, Nature is one of those powers where you will definitely need help of meta powers to keep up if not top dps. But let's see. Won't know until I switch and test it out D:

Nice video, bro. Now in this matter depends of what the people want, if they are scoreboard chasers they should use meta, if they wanna have fun and dont care about being in the top they can use other things that make then happy. In my case im sort of hybryd, i have a Sorcery DPS/Healer and a Fire DPS/Tank and i use brawling and other meta skills´s, but im flyer, so i clip using the powers of my powerset´s, i ussualy do more damage then regular Might dps´s (Except amunition´s because that´s the best power in the game) but a full meta prec players can beat me. But you know what? i dont care because i play only for fun, i dont have that Ask Ketchum Syndrome (I wanna be the very best like no one ever was... yeah, that song xD) i dont suffer of that. Sure i try to mantain my damage in a decent level, but wanting have top damage always? Nah, that can make some people very toxic and is not what i want. P.D. My main language is not english, sorry if you see any mistake.

The Meta (idk haven't been on dcuo in a while but this is the metas I remember) Precision Dps (Gadgets/Electric, Brawling + Martial Arts for AoE , Dual Wield + Bow for ST) Might Dps (Rage/Gadgets/Ice) Healer (Water/Electric) Tank (Rage) Troll (it doesn't matter which troll power you choose) Precision uses strat,trans,eog,quiz,venom arts Might uses Strat,trans,eog,grim,amulet arts Tank uses Manacles,LoT,Mystic,Pit water arts Healer uses Eog,Orb,Scrap,Trans,Strat,Ray arts Troll uses IDK I don't play Troll Precision is the dps Meta People usually want eog healers People usually want power/buff trolls And any Tank is good as long as they have good arts Arts should be 160 180 or 200

I like using non meta it’s fun and using stuff like a gadget prec gets so boring I use sorc prec and might and I do just fine for damage for my alt I’m atomic and I do great as a might dps. Honestly if you have decently leveled arts you’ll be fine

I like a mix of both. But I definitely don’t follow the sheeple by doing the exact same thing. Experiment a little. Get creative. And if your DPSing, also do mechanics and pickups. You can stop for 2 seconds to help the team.

This morning I ran GPr and I out dpsed 2 of the dps despite me being the healer for the entire alert. That is just sad. And it ended up being a 24 min alert when I've done reg in 7-8 mins before. My time is precious and I'm sorry but I don't want to spend 2-3x as long in content because bad players can't figure out how the game works. Sometimes I am top dps but many other times I'm not. The only time I really care is if the dps are doing very low dmg and the instance is taking way longer than it should. People should learn to respect other people's time. Just because you have all day to sit on the game doesn't mean everyone does. But this is what's wrong with the dcuo community. It's full of rude people who are incapable of thinking about anyone but themselves. And Eddy I get the point of the test you did. But we both know some rotations work great on sparring targets. You stand still and spam away. But some of the rotations that work great on dummies don't work so great in content. Also any dps worth a damn changes an ability here n there depending on what is being run. A good example is coue. When that was current I used 3 different rotations for the 3 different bosses.

Facts. Ppl think fun = slow burn. Thats like going into Mortal Kombat only knowing 1 combo with your main and going online. Theres non meta loadouts that BURN very good. Ppl just lazy and want to be carried. I did 70 mill in dmg in GPR..no heal...no tank. Just 3 other dps who all were 392 and two had 30 mil, last dps had 19 mil. Pathetic

Actually you do need iconic powers for hard light due to its terrible supercharges. The 5k supercharge is a channel which eog will not get as much damage rather than it just being a dot and using 10k supercharges just hurts eog spam. Also it’s 10k supercharge will amp eog damage since I think you will have to be close up to the target with eog right on it. The best supercharge spam iconic for light is neo-venom and word of power. Also you no longer need robot sidekick or dies too quickly. The meta is eog spamming as a dps and adding another supercharge would benefit you but you will need a 2500 supercharge because you don’t want 3 5000 supercharges. The best 2500 for this would be speed drain since it has aoe dot and procs eog.

I feel like your 'meta' arts are off. Everyone in running trans,strat and Quizlet or Eog. solar fell off awhile ago. The meta is Supercharger spamming so anything that takes advantage of that like EOG and Quizlet are meta. I feel meta is something everyone runs even on electric you might not run SS moves or RSK but there's a meta might load out. It's been the same for years.

Prec is fine and doesn't need a nerf. Most of the power sets as might can keep up or surpass prec. You simply need to know what you're doing.

@@roboninja3194 I'll definitely have to disagree. It's proven that prec gets more out of some arts ECT. That's why they had to change the value of some for prec at one point. Even people showinh off prec and might loads show that prec does more damage.
