There's something deeply American and very melancholic about watching this performance in front of a almost empty mega stadium. It creates a feeling like the party has been over for years and the few people who find their way out into the stadium in the dead subburb watch a sad shadow of a past that is gone. It has that very specific coldness you don't find in other mega cities around the world. The Soviet city coldness is different. The American city coldness has a certain feel to it.
