Bethany Leigh I only did 4 so that’s a bit better!!! I was lucky because I thoroughly enjoyed my subjects and have such a love for academia that it came naturally and I wanted to achieve - for me I imagine it’s so hard if you’re just trying to “get by”, trying to actually find enjoyment in your subjects is the most important thing!!!! Also really really use specs, everything you need to know is on there - make sure by the time you sit your exam you’ve worked through everything - then you’ll nail it Xx

I feel you Ibz! I'm from the endz too! North London brap brap! I went to college as a single mum with a toddler, did 3 voluntary jobs, and re-sat my GCSE English exam with no family support. The teachers didn't think I was even going to make it through college because I wasn't a traditional student. Only one of my teachers actually believed in me. I was predicted to fail and I actually got one of the top grades in my class, and passed my re-sit too. It was hard, there were times when I didn't sleep, times where I had to put my child first and take a break, and almost dropped out in the first year, but I did it, and I'm proud! I didn't end up at Oxbridge or EXIT-HERRRR, but I did end up at a Russell Group university. I felt the same way about UCL as you did about Exeter, but I was messed about by "UC-heLLLL" in a similar way that you did with Exeter. I went through the same b/s when I arrived at university, being a non-traditional student ((reh tear tear)). After a couple of years of study there, I had to take another break from education b/c life gets in the way sometimes. But I'm don't worry fam, I'm returning to uni in September '18 to bring them my seasoning and finish!

@rabbitcarrot6516 жыл бұрын
It was A Level English literature. Any tips? Just study hard and know the key themes, topics and arguments, make sure you know the stuff you’ve been studying basically. Read, read and read some more. Especially read around your subject (books, magazines and articles related to the themes and topics of what you’ve been studying). Examiners love it when you can contextualise other works and compare them to the books you’ve been studying. I even quoted a tv show in my final exam (which I scored near maximum marks on so it must have worked!). Do practice papers and start doing timed responses to the questions. When I did my A levels I practiced until I was able to score a mark a minute.

Thanks for making this Video Ibz! Okay so I blitzed my GCSEs a few years ago and there were expectations for me to do really well at A-Level and apply to Cambridge for Vet Med, but it didn't quite work out like that aha. Even if your A-levels don't go to plan, It's not the end of the world!!! I ended up studying Biological science for my undergrad, and actually not getting the grade in chemistry was actually the BEST thing for me. I later realised that Vet Med was DEFINITELY not for me, and I would have dropped out. I graduated with a 2:1 in Biology last year, and am now doing an MSc in Physiotherapy at Southampton University, which I absolutely LOVE :) A wise man once said "There are many roads that lead to Rome".

When I'm feeling unmotivated, I always ask this, I call it the WHW System: Why am I in this current position? How did I get here? What am I striving for? This has helped me to self-motivate and become more grateful. Gratitude these days is rarely acknowledge, however, it's a key-part of fulfillment. Don't be the obsequious fool, trying so hard to receive admiration from others, because I can tell you that's not going to work for you in the long run. I know this is going to sound selfish, but please do things for yourself in order to fill self-fufilled... or do what I take my hand at becoming the obsequious fool... the choice is yours.

It's a wonderful video (obviously) and I'm glad to see many fantastic success stories in the comments, but can I just say that A-levels are not the most important thing in your life. I was working my ass off and genuinely worked for A*A*A*, but missed my AAB offer. I went to a RG uni and first thing they told me was "oh... you're lucky to be here". Fast-forward few months and not only I'm getting 1st and 2:1s, but also managing to get involved into great opportunities THANKS TO MY HOBBIES. Meanwhile, a lot of straight A* students fail to get a job. So please - DO focus on your education. DO try your best. But DON'T forget about your interests outside of school, they are way more important than your grades when it comes to applications. Heads up to everyone and please can someone teach me how to make good curry xx

Your A level Sociology videos are so helpful. I got a high B in my AS exams, and I'm aiming for an A/A* in my A Levels. I just have one more A level CIE Left - sociology Paper 3. I'm starting to work Really hard for it. With enough hard work, i think I will be able to achieve an A/A* not only in Sociology, but in my 3 other subjects. So overall, I'm aiming for 4As / 4A*'s. It's important to be confident, so I'm working hard and telling myself I can do it, because honestly? I can. And I will 📚📖✍🏼 Thank you, ibz!

Fatima Congrats on your grades🎉I know this is a year late but I’ve really been struggling with sociology. Do you have any tips to improve my C to an A/A*?
