He should NOT name them. He is too leveraged in his position where the other guy does not have a platform to defend himself. This is very different than a bad Google review. This does not at all mean the fence guy needs to be defended, but we don't know his side of the story. I trust James, but we're also taking his word for it (again, I fully trust he is telling the story correctly). If it was an even debate floor, then I'd be all for it. But I wouldn't want to see James get sued for libel for millions over a $30k fence. I think it someone saw his video and was actually in the market for a fence in Salt Lake City, they would be able to make sure they are not using this guy given the context clue James described. But naming the company and having 100k random strangers with no skin in the game put this guy out of business is not a fair fight. If James wants to take him to court, that is what that is for.

James has done the right thing. He got his point across. Alot of people get screwed all the time from other people! It's a shame we live in a negative society. If we get used vehicles that break down almost immediately or a bad experience at a restaurant or hell even if we get bad haircuts. Very seldom do people brag about a good meal or mention a good experience. Hate your haircut you tell everyone if you like it you tell no one. I don't know why people think what WD did with his cars is a bad thing. Celebrities, sports figures, and sports teams do this kind of stuff all the time. F1 teams do this with their cars, tires, hubs, you name it. Game worn sports jerseys are cut into 1" squares and slapped on a card and sold for $100s. I don't see the difference. His audience wants a piece of memorabilia just like any other fan. More power to him.

The way that goon squad sold the pieces of the Porsche seem like a money grab. They should have just included them in orders to encourage people to purchase more stuff. All they did was hack up pieces of a car that you were basically buying scrap metal. The way Whistlin diesel did it you were buying a piece of memorabilia in a fancy case with a vin number, and a description of what it was all the pieces were polished, and they even had a giveaway to go along with it, when people say how much money Whistlin diesel made, it probably wasn’t much considering how much time it took to make all of those. He has an entire crew that he has to pay.

The Gate scam is a tricky topic, I understand where James is concerned about ruining someone rep but, the contractor ghosted him for far too long. Which makes me doubt was his first time at failing to follow through with his contractual obligations. Whether or not he fell on hard times or addictions is all mute due to the failure to communicate with his client and explain the delays is blatantly irresponsible. So, this is where I see DDE point of view. I would take all the information to the Better Business Bureau after hearing what they have to say, I might would give the story to the local news if need be. I truly dislike scammers. They totally don't care the about lives they leave in torment. All they care about is I got mine! They need to pay restitution to their victims.

sadly It's a tough decision for a youtuber to name somebody who screwed them over. Especially if said youtuber has 1mil+ followers. While the business may have done them wrong, to put them on blast on the internet could likely ruin their business when maybe this was a one off. I agree with wanting to know yet I also understand not wanting to feel responsible for destroying their business.

With contractors, it's unlikely to be a one-off considering he had Stradman pay his wife and not the company. This means they are likely leveraging money from new jobs to pay for older jobs which is why he kept dodging doing the work installing the fencing for Stradman. Eventually the contractor falls too far behind and ends up going bankrupt when the customers start suing him and bill collectors come calling.

I think strad did the right thing but here’s the problem, I watched the video and I don’t remember the exact first name but it’s there. Here’s the issue without pinpointing that individual we will say “John” any other John in Utah that does fencing is going to be screwed over. If James said it’s John smith and people call John Doe they know it’s not the same individual who stole from James.
