Always good to hear when an artist understands where their money is coming from. We've been in a whole transition to gain back power. But on the same note, 3,750 streams equaling 1 album sale is kinda wack. Billboard needs to change that... and that's with Ad supported streams. It's 1,250 streams on paid streams like Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal... and even THAT is too many streams to equal ONE album sale. It should be at least half of that, if not more. This is part of the reason why a lot of artists aren't hitting the numbers that artist use to get. There was a time when a good amount of artists can hit half a million sales in a week. The well known artists were going 5 to 7 times platinum on whole album sales. Not even just singles. If you think about it, they have to get about 1 BILLION streams to hit a million sales. There's only a small handful of artists even capable of getting to the 100's of millions of streams, and an even smaller amount who can get to that billion mark. The game has changed. Artists HAVE to create different avenues to make more money. That's why we're starting to see more push KZbin/Twitch content. They take their merch sales more serious. You can't just do music and only music unless you're part of the small group of elite artists like Drake, Bad Bunny, Kendrick, Hov, etc.
