Doki Doki Sanfu DDLC MODS with Monika, Sayori, Yuri, and Natsuki is based on y Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected anime where MC is now more like Hachiman and has a personality. This mod is a blend between comedy and seriousness (without the memes or obvious references seen in Relapse). The story follows a redesigned protagonist and his experience joining the club. By redesign, I mean he was given a personality different to the base game, as well as a past that will play into his general outlook and interactions with the dokis. He's sort of a blend between the personalities of the protagonists from these stories: "My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU," "Bunny-Girl Senpai," and "The Fruit of Grisaia." I've never played the mod "Fruits of the Literature Club", so there may be a slight overlap due to our similar inspirations, but if there is it will likely be negligible. With that explained, what about the game-play?There will be 10~11 'routes' available, though that doesn't mean you'll have to play through the mod that many times. Each girl has two routes, a lover route and a friend route. You can only do one lover route at a time (so no harem), but you could technically clear multiple friend routes in a single playthrough. To give an idea, it's a similar system to what you would see in a Persona game.Two new characters are also introduced (hence the 10~11 routes), but one of them is totally optional if new characters aren't your thing.The potential of a stat system exists. Again, this is a similar system to what you'd see in a Persona game, with there being four "stats" that can be raised to unlock new scenes and interactions. It's currently incorporated into the code and present in the demo, but it may be removed or altered in the future if I run out of ways to use it meaningfully.But why don't you see all these for yourself?

Ex: he didn't want to join the club until he realized the girls are "hot" meaning he has no control over his sexual energy and will be a fool just to get to be with one of the girls.

Speaking as both a writer and someone who loves books, movies, games and (though not as much as before) anime, I've never been a fan of dense or clueless protagonists. I know they do it because it makes the stories more "interesting" (which can work well if done right), but detectives and phantom thieves are some of my favorite character archetypes to ever exist, just seeing them do their jobs is entertaining. I don't mind if a character isn't quite book smart (it could be a young child who doesn't know better or an alien visiting from another world, or even simply homeschooled) so much as they can still put 2 and 2 (or 1 plus 1) together. Or, at the very least, said character is more than meets the eye.

if you ask me MC isn't dense or dumb the problem is that he's (probably) just too nice which causes him to misunderstand whats going on in his current situation (and of course we have those people that decide it's a good idea to make MC act dumb in all their fangames, seriously if he could see the fangames he would get really mad and i wont blame him) edit- lets be honest here i'm pretty sure people would want MC to act the same way he does in ddlc cause in this one he is even more savage than in the old games and i don't really like it that much

Probably the most dumb thing MC does in the canon is completely misunderstand how to deal with Sayori's depression. It's pretty obvious he didn't know what to do and kept making Sayori feel worse. Compare it to Monika handling it so much better in the side stories of Plus.

People who claim to already figure it out would only be aware of it because they either 1: has been around people that suffer from depression, 2: actually had been in that situation before. or 3: is going through it themselves. or really 4: watched too many analysis videos of the game to suddenly know. It's ridiculous to expect a kid who NEVER BEFORE dealt with depression to know exactly how to spot or handle it when they don't have the power of overanalyzing hindsight bias. Depression isn't as obvious like you and the game makes it out to be. Not to mention, literall, none of the other club members were aware of her depression.

The whole reason MC acts the way he does is because Monika created him so she could interact with the player. She made MC with little to no personality traits because he was merely an interface. Maybe some people could do with a refresher on the lore, as they clearly don’t understand this. They say: “Well, acksually, according to my research, MC is a bad character” - 🤓 No, you need to look at the lore before you say dumb sh*t like that. It makes sense story-wise.
