Hey Slim, washed up serious rugby player here, just to say anyone who knows fitness knows that hardest working guy in the gym is not the roided-up bodybuilder or social kids on the treadmills, or even the skinny cross-fit folks, it's the person busting their ass at their own level every day, and sweating the long-term - usually someone who's a total mess of sweat. We used to compete to be as consistent and hard-working as you, and some of my friends went on to play for Team Canada. Seeing that you got through six months and 25% of your body weight (!!), I have no doubts. Each day an opportunity! Best to your super-duper wife as well!

Just starting your video. Its bringing tears to my eyes. My grandson gained weight due to his depression. He felt worthless. Drinking didn't help. He was a Christian but began to feel even God didnt care. He killed himself. I am thankful he is no longer suffering the mental torment instead he is full of joy in the presence of God. But my point is i am so glad you found your way out of that depression. Good to see you loving life. God bless you.

Wow! This is the second inspiring video I've seen on DDPyoga transforming people just like me. I use to think that I was a special case but now I know that I'm not and it feels good to know that I'm not all alone in the world with my struggles. To know that someone out there has not only the same struggles that I have but also is overcoming that struggle. I know for a fact that this day isn't just an ordinary day, I know that this is God answering my call for help and I am answering with a resounding Thank you. I feel so empowered right now, I haven't felt this way in years. Thank DDP and Ben and Slim I hope to join your ranks someday soon.

Hey DDP, I just wanted say that I love DDP Yoga. I started to lose weight a year ago when I started going for 5 mile walks every day. I came across your Yoga program the other day and I absolutely love it. I still go for my 3-5 mile walks every day but I start doing 30-45 minute workouts of DDP Yoga and I feel great. I'm proud to be part of Team DDP Yoga. Thanks DDP.

There is absolutely something about changing your life in short bursts. The next 40 days thing is brilliant. My wife and I started doing short programs (I just finished a Couch to 5K, my wife started with a 30 day squat challenge and is now doing Couch to 5K as well) and it has changed everything for us. I have lost 45 lbs since I started and am looking for the next challenge. Thanks for being an inspiration to all of us struggling with depression and weight.

truely inspiring. I'm about to start my journey. these videos are helping....but i know i can no longer just sit and watch these videos seeing others success....i need to get up and make my own success! im 175cm & close to 190kg (5'8 and abt 420lbs) i say close to as on my "day 1" where i went to weigh in, i stood on the scales and watch it tick up & up until it read 'ERROR' Talk about a kick in the guts....get in the right mind frame & work up the courage to finally get on the scales... to realize that i was too heavy for the scales! That was just another confirmation to me that something must be done. So my journey is about to start....and i thank all those who have shared their story and continue to inspire so many people

Hi I am sorry this took so long, I started to reply a few days ago and the reply sort of took on a life of it's own. I have been sick the last couple of days, so I put this on hold. I will post the response below. I thought about responding to you privately but I am guessing it might help others as well to post publicly ok…here goes :-) +Rain Yes! I am doing it regularly…there are three scheduled workouts a week MW&F I don't even know if that changes later on in the program, I haven't looked that far ahead…I don't want to become nervous or overwhelmed... I take it a day at a time..and I see it as all good…every workout I can get through…it is all good!!! I have never missed a workout since starting. That is, I have done the 3 (and often more) scheduled workouts a week!!! One time I was ill, in so much pain (not from the workouts, I know you probably get it) and was unable to do a workout on that scheduled day (let's say it was a wednesday) but I refused to miss one of the weekly workouts) I allowed myself to rest (actually I felt I could not get off the bed) and planned to postpone it until the next day. Then the next day came, and I needed the rest that day as well, so I did Wednesday's workout on Friday and then Friday's on Saturday or Sunday (not sure which) it was a specifically bad week for me. But I have not missed one workout in the program! I cannot say it enough and DDP says it all the time throughout the program: "make the workouts your own" It is not just an expression…there is a modifier (someone doing an easier version) but hon, there is NO shame in modifying it further for your own needs and abilities. Make it your own! You will hear DDP say it again and again and being someone with autoimmune disorder, I cannot stress it enough and it is so true, move at your own speed, favor your hurting spots if you must. My husband was so inspired by fact that I was doing this, even with the pain I had been living with... that when I was a couple of weeks into the program, he decided to give up going to the gym and cancel our membership (I wasn't going anyway) and start DDP as well. We used to be in the gym weight training 4-5 times a week back in the day. We were training partners. So I went back to Day1 in the workouts the day he started...and we do them together. :-) Are there days I am not up to working out? Yes! Of course you know there are...But I never let myself say "Ugh I don't feel like working out, or worse yet I don't want to work out." it's not an option for me! I know I would say that if I had to drive somewhere to a gym and lift weights or to get in whatever kind of other workout. But I know every MW&F I am doing DDP. I do have my husband as support…PLEASE don't let that discourage you though if you do not have someone to do them with…it just helps me be more accountable, because we were total Gym Rats at one time, it was our life and we were tough on each other! Then I got sick…and one auto-immune lead to another :-( So On those days that he comes home that I am on the couch and he says "You ready?" I may not be, but I get off that couch and I do it…and it's not impossible, and it's not impossible for you either..because of that re-occurring tenet "Make it your own". I have messed up knees and I know now that when I am doing a lower body workout to wrap my knees with ace bandages or wear knee braces like one of these: images.allegrocentral.com/E7/27/Invacare-Neoprene-Open-Knee-Brace-549718-PRODUCT-MEDIUM_IMAGE.jpg it's not that these are rigorous workouts, it's just me now. There are days I have to take it easy and take it slow. My husband ordered me some yoga blocks, they are not even in this program but they help me. So if when everyone in the video (and my husband) get in this position: media.yogajournal.com/wp-content/uploads/bas_234_opener_Sized2.jpg I was in more of this position, with my leg barely of the floor: www.busyboo.com/wp-content/uploads/yoga-block-cork.jpg I am now able to lift more, even if not "up in the air"! But…I must tell you…there have been days that have felt much better and stronger than before DDP. There are days that NOT only did I do all the scheduled workouts, sometimes on the days off I have even wanted to do (and have done) extra workouts. Maybe that extra workout was not an advanced workout, but even if it was one of the more basic workouts, it was 1 or 2 workouts more than I was scheduled to have that week. That's huge! I cannot tell you what to do Rain, but if you do get this program, you are doing something for yourself. You will never regret a workout. Even if you think you didn't do it well…you did it. Since this program is so "make it your own" friendly and in your own home, not in a gym with others watching how you go at your own pace, you may (like me) tend to do it more, than if you joined a gym for example. I am sure you will make the decision that is right for you. Best wishes and Be Well!!! :-) ~t PS sorry if it is so weird that this is so long on YT :-)

Good morning Slim, thanks for sharing yourself and your efforts with the rest of us. The key thought for me is that you "took control". I think too many of us let food, alcohol, tobacco and the opinions of others control us. Then the fortunate people realise that they can rediscover control of these things because they deserve better. Perhaps some people are afraid to take control because with control(power) comes responsibility, and success or failure becomes a personal responsibility. Keep up the good deeds!

Between this and the Arthur video I was sold on the program. I recently gained back 25 pounds I lost at the beginning of the year (and then some) to hit an all time high of 319 pounds. I hate being in my own body at this point. I ordered the full program tonight and I'm really looking forward to getting started.

Slim's wife is an angel. She stood with him even though he was fat. Not many women can do that

Congrats on taking the first step forward, my friend! I know that you've been put down, you've been shunned, you've been cast out by many... but believe that doesn't define who you are. Me saying the sky is green doesn't make it that way... see your worth and your potential and begin to take on the world!!! You can do it, friend! Just always be moving forward and NEVER GIVE UP!! -SLIM
