Those weird stepjumps may seem excessive, but I think this chart is overall fine. In fact, I've been warming up to it. Compared to NGO CSP (what I see many comparing this to), it's way better synced and most of its patterns have much better flow overall. This chart also has a lot more personality and really challenges the norm, making it a breath of fresh air within the A20+ folder. Honestly, I will take this chart over many of the very barebones charts we've been getting in A20+ lately; we need more charts like this.

I highly regret scarring the comment section with my initial thoughts on this chart. Sorry if I offended you or anyone in this comments section. I only claimed it as a 'milquetoast 19' because I was outright frustrated with how the chart was made and the rating it received. After diving into it a bit more, some of the crossovers feel rather awkward, but they do resolve. The big challenge for me is figuring out which parts to double-step and which parts to cross over, but I think I found an approach that I'm comfortable with. It's kind of like how I reacted to when I first saw Norepinephrine ESP last summer.

This isn't bad TBH. Sure there's ambiguous foot movement on some part like on 0:16 where you should use right foot to resolve everything ahead, not-so-obvious footswitching in 0:25, and kinda weird footswitching moment in slowdown at 0:45. But everything other than that flows well and fun to nail. People compares this to DEGRS like what? This is miles better than DEGRS and NGO. Rating-wise I think this is harder than NGO CSP because crossovers, stepjumps, and 20BPM faster than NGO, but I can see why KONAMI rates this as 17. I just hope KONAMI didn't add a CSP18 for this song. I can sense Prey CSP trainwreck if that were to happen.

@@lpcrossover5424 I remember when the new rating system came out and being surprised at how many older boss songs were re-rated to 18s. That was especially true with NGO as it seemed way too easy in comparison to things like DEGRS, Pluto Relinquish and Paranoia Hades to be put in the same league (albeit not overwhelmingly easier). It's almost like they slapped a whole bunch of them into the same rating just to say "this song is quite hard, so beware". To be fair though, there weren't as many true 18s to form enough of a comparison at the time, but NGO could definitely get a re-rate based on how many more harder songs have come out since then, case-in-point with this new one.

I do think this chart is harder to clear than NGO CSP, because this song is faster and is a lot more packed towards the end. NGO can be BS passed pretty easily, by dropping the single note in the middle in many of the "jump sandwiches". That said, this chart may be easier to combo than NGO because the jumps aren't sandwiched. Still curious as to why NGO is rated higher, though.
@MISTERX7725_3 жыл бұрын
Good to see you’re still around anytime a controversial chart gets released lol.
@SomberShroud Жыл бұрын
NGO has a much tighter squeeze of step jumps with 8th notes in between and a longer stream of those step jumps than this chart, this chart has more emphasis on longer 8th note streams rather than step jumps. Also NGO has "jump into 8th note into jump(followed by another one) and many more jumps before that which for a short burst makes it an 18 (barely) and Jucunda memoria doesn't have those specific patterns but the ones they share are a little more spread out compared to NGO. Even though this is way more enduring cause of the overall length of the song, stream/stamina isn't considered into rating, I mean just look at the charts they've been putting out recently. Night of knights (Ryu Remix) ESP, Max 360 DSP, Bang Pad ESP, even oldies like Spanish snowy dance were pushing stamina and yet are seemingly underleveled due to technicalities of what determines a level (it's voltage).
@hnkul702 Жыл бұрын
@@SomberShroud Stamina requirements not being incorporated into a chart's level of difficulty is more often than not an anomaly. MAX 360 DSP being a 15 is simply wrong if you ask me. If your assertion was true, all of Elemental Creation's charts are overrated, MAX 360 ESP and CSP are overrated, and Luckgakist CSP would have no business being a 16, either.
@SomberShroud Жыл бұрын
@hnkul702 hmm, I don't think you interpreted my assertion correctly if you think that those would be "overrated". I think those songs are properly rated (at least in the eyes of konami) because drills aren't weighted as heavily as simple patterns or crossovers or even sometimes triplets, also the amount of breaks (8th notes breaking up the 16th notes) also effects the voltage so things like Elemental Creation gets by inching at that borderline of each level rating. This ends up making some songs way more stamina intensive than ones at a higher level cause of the way they rate songs. Look at drop out(nonstop megamix) that has a spike of 16th notes at the end unlike most 13 footers but that's a 12 since 1. Its short enough to be considered 2 measures of 1 difficulty higher steps (3 measures would put it 1 level higher [reference: The legend of Max ESP]) 2. It's a drill pattern, if it were a simple pattern like max 300 DSP then it would be a 13(A song like Horatio ESP if it were converted to simple patterns would be higher level). I think there are enough songs out there like this to say that this is how konami rates the charts even if they are anomlies. I think songs like Qipchaq ESP and EDP(songs that are near identical in stepcharts) are even more of an anomly than these though.

My honest opinion on this chart is that it’s a really rough 17.85. The thing about this chart is that it’s learnable and can be tamed. NGO is harder in the sense that the jumps are way more tedious than these. It’s all in how you handle the chart.

Okay a few things 1. I fucking hate this chart. For me, personally. It's just really awkward to play, my body isn't accustomed to the movements so for me it's painful and its full of things I'm bad at, plus the sound quality isn't great in game. 2. That said, I think charts like this are very good for the game and I think a lot of the comments here are really silly. We need more charts like this to push skillset meta and it's been a while since we got something NGO-like, this chart is basically that but not broken and I appreciate that. 3. If anything, this chart just highlights the fact that NGO is actually a 17. This isn't any harder than Chaos terror tech or PTF. 4. I do like the fact that, as someone else pointed out, you literally can play this whole thing without double stepping if you know it well enough. Plus, it's the kind of chart where any turn mod is meta. Tldr I don't like it but some of you, mainly jackhammer nosepicker and groin kicker, need to chill out a bit. Prey CSP as an example was really abysmal for the game, simply because it has a high chance of hurting someone and it's dependent on pad condition, on top of it being kinda uninspired jumpfest charting, but this is fine.
Konami messed up with rating this a 17. This is either a broken 18 or an milquetoast 19 at best. This chart's just atrocious in every way, probably the worst one in all of A20+. Streams this broken alongside tremendous amounts of jump-stepping and ridiculously fast double-stepping where your feet and legs wander around aimlessly at an uncomfortable BPM put Dead End "Groove Radar" Special to shame in regards to quality. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait several more years until Konami realizes their mistakes and re-rates it to a higher difficulty (or at least just fix the chart so it's playable). *UPDATE / EDIT (8/6/21):* Okay, so after reading the replies and discovering that I created a viral comments section about my opinions with this chart, I might as well clarify a few things. This doesn't even look like it should be a 19. The only reason I labeled it as a 'milquetoast 19' was because I was extremely frustrated at the time of writing this with how this chart was written out and practiced stepping to it. I still stand by what I said though about Konami re-rating this as an 18, though. To me, this really doesn't play out like a 17 (yet Konami claims NGO is an 18) because of how I observed this chart. After studying it a bit more, the crossovers it offers feel awkward, but they eventually resolve themselves if you approach them right. I apologize if I aggravated anyone in the comments section with my behavior and reaction to the chart.
