"Do you identify as a gamer?" Peak 2024 question right there.

When you were starting to do all the power plays, I fully expected DDRLuck to come in and the game give you the Bird Faced Urn

I couldn't disagree more on self repair. Unless you have less than 8 (11) health, it's a 1 energy 10 block card with fringe benefits. Since it applies at the end of a fight, there's no penalty for playing it early and it allows you to be much more aggressive. 50:30 You are correct. Recycle has great synergy with creative AI. It's also the best way to get rid of status cards as the defect.

Do the colourless cards you draw stay in your deck or do they disappear at the end of the combat round? Thanks - picked up StS early after watching these and I'm thoroughly hatejoying it!

Any card generated during combat will not be kept once the battle over. Also you will not lose any card that is already in your deck through combat, even if you exhaust it.

Hi Jake, hypothetical Slay the Spire question: If you could have one Common, Uncommon, or Rare relic, in addition to the character's starter relic, which relic would you choose for each of the characters? (Assuming it's an A20 run and the relic would be received at the start of the run).

A fun question, let's see. For the Chad, it's Dead Branch, Mummified Hand and Centennial puzzle. He loves to to exhaust and has good low-cost powers and self-harm makes drawing with centennial reliable. Silent gets Gambling Chip, White Beast Statue and Lantern. Chip + Lantern ensure incredible Turn 1s and the statue's 100% potion chance will help her with her biggest problem: not having enough strength in Act 1. Defect gets Fossilized Helix, Toxic Egg and Art of War. He takes longer than the others to set up, so always having buffer from the helix is great, while his excellent skills always being upgraded with the egg will give him a lot of strength early and Art of War almost becomes a pure +1 energy relic. Watcher gets Fossilized Helix, Molten Egg and Bag of Marbles. With that, she can safely wrath-form kill every fight swiftly. Some of those were tough picks, turning down Tough Bandages, Tingsha, Data Disk and Ashes isn't easy, but if you were guaranteed these relics at the start, I think a 95+% winrate would be achievable. I wouldn't do it though, as a big part of the fun of the game is adapting to what gets thrown at you.

Ah, I see the question was "Or" not "and" for the relics. In which case, it would be the three rare choices from above: branch, chip, helix, helix.

@@DDRJakeVery cool, I appreciate both responses actually! I imagine the uncommon and common relics you mentioned are the ones you would choose if you had to choose. Keep up the good work! 👍

@DDRJake Hi tough question for you: Is Hello World the worst card in the game? I cannot imagine a worse card myself, filling up your deck with junk. It's so bad I tend to avoid taking Creative AI because I don't ever want to see it and accidentally play it. It's like when you mention how Infinite Blades is terrible because it doesn't do anything for you the round of, and is slow going after that. But I might be unfair in hating Hello World, or perhaps there's another card out there that's worse?

Clash, Riddle with holes, Infinite Blades and Pressure Points all come to my mind as far worse cards. Hello World is pretty bad in the end game, but in act 1 and some of act 2 it can be valuable as a way of giving you more choices of card to play before you have good access to draw and other deck manipulation. Defect also has generally excellent common cards including hologram, Ball Lightning, Beam Cell, charge battery, coolheaded, leap even Turbo! The important thing is that it gives you essentially 20% more card draw without bloating your deck for the first few turns, and on A20, those first few turns are what matter. It shouldn't be a problem that you are "filling up with junk" by the time you're on turn 5 or 6. Those hallway fights should be finished and your boss rounds should be set up. You'd have to be mad or have a very unorthodox deck to want Hello World in Act 3 and beyond, but before that, I think it's very serviceable.
