Sometimes I wonder if I looked at your vedio. Why you should built a shanty in the middle of the stream. I am also an Asian man and expert for mountain operation being a special forces here in our country. I built a shanty more distance from the creek to avoid flash flood if the heavy rains come. Besides I'm only bringing a jungle hammock and tied on the trees to avoid human detection and make traces with them.

Loved this video and that puppy has to be the cutest little puppy that I have ever seen (what is his name?). You definitely did the right thing in draining your pond and using calcium carbonate (lime) to reduce the acidity. Don't be afraid to put much more lime on the mud while you have the pond drained, but it will take 7-14 days to go through a process. The lime dissolves to form calcium, bicarbonate, and hydroxide ions that will cation exchange with some potassium & magnesium ions which will increase the pH. I would suggest that after you refill the pond that you get some cheap pH test strips.... pond water needs to be slightly above 7 pH for optimal. Additionally, routinely treating the new water with sodium bicarbonate (Baking Soda) which is usually very inexpensive and is not as aggressive as lime, will keep your pond and fish healthy for a long time. Please don't take this as me preaching or telling you that you are doing anything wrong.... intended as just a suggestion. Please take care and stay healthy!!!
