One of the greatest open-field runners I've ever seen. This includes Barry Sanders and Walter Peyton. His field vision and patience, combined with unbelievable acceleration and quickness make him nearly unstoppable in an open field situation. I see he's doing it in the NFL as well.

as much talent they have, the attack they have is actually their downfall as much as it is their success. The Spread Option is very easy to stop if you focus on stopping it, have the end or outside linebacker play the dive, and have the near linebacker play the QB, and this would work on triple option as well as the safety or nickle corner would be the pitch read if the backer doesn't overplay it pre-snap.the flaw in the machine.

bohba13 Well Auburn's offense seems simple and look where it's gotten them. It's not the spread that's beat them, they've simply struggled with execution in big games. Mariota(my favorite player) is also guilty of this, look at the overthrows he had in the Stanford game. Marcus makes those throws and Stanford isn't running the ball 50+ times in the game. The Arizona game was a melt down on both sides of the ball.

And BTW if anyone dare says he's faster than Tavon Austin you're wrong. It's disappointing but he just ran an official 40 yard dash of 4.50. Tavon Austin had a 4.34. And if anyone says "he's still stronger" you're also wrong, DeAnthony had 8 reps in the 225 bench press, Tavon had 14. DeAnthony is talented but he's no tavon austin

heck yeah man I was asked to play varsity at my high school (AA) the summer before my sophomore year.... I was 120 lbs. Unfortunately I knew that and I felt I needed to wait a year and gain weight... I will never forgive myself!! I started on defense my junior year at 135 and im trying to get to 150 by my senior year and make the most out of the last time I get to play my favorite sport. NEVER be afraid to take chances.

You make me laugh, Tavon's 200% better than De'Anthony, and the only reason De'Anthony DOES take hits is because the other team catches him, He's fast, but Tavon is better. Period. The funny thing is, Ducks are an option team, and it's pretty often that the opposing team bites on the fake, and they STILL catch him, so get the "Tavon sucks" thought out of your head child.

Tavon's sophomore season wasn't bad. It was very good, in fact. Watching him play, you knew he was going to be something special...he just wasn't quite there yet. DAT is the same way, although he's further along than Austin was at this point. Comparing offensive coordinators doesn't really matter because Oregon used DAT in a limited role as well. There's a sentiment that DAT will be unleashed this season with Oregon's new coach. Bottom-line: both these players are fucking AMAZING.

Thomas and Austin are both phenomenal players with great skill and speed. Thomas is bigger and slightly more physical but Austin has great footwork. They are very similar in many regards, but they play different positions, and they are both just too good to say who's better in my opinion.
