Aside from nureyev's sheer gorgeousness, his concentration and charisma are extraordinary. What an incredible film clip. The music and choreography are intriguing. No. This is modern dance and Nureyev loved all forms of dance. The same dancers who rise up to the top were born with super healthy strong bodies from genetics and great ambition with their hard work. The majority of students have career ending injuries due to inferior genetic code. Ask professional dancers and they will agree. Even Nureyev had pain and problems with his feet that he suffered for. As a dancer I went upward quickly until my knees failed at 15. Heartbreaking. 7 operations and 2 knee replacements with lifelong pain. Many ballerinas and dancers are naturally stronger and have more perfect bodies. Once a ballerina- always a hard worker and perfectionist! I miss the planet of dance and worship Nureyev and Fonteyn.

It’s a tragedy that he didn’t live long enough to create his own dance school. He was an excellent teacher. If he had done that before he died we would today have the Nureyev Method!
