Ik zat ook voor de televisie, samen met de buurtkinderen, die bij ons mochten kijken, want er waren nog niet veel mensen bij ons in de straat die televisie hadden. Mijn papa werkte bij Philips, dus wij waren er vroeg bij. Ah wat is dat lang geleden, ik was toen 8 jaar, en nu een oma van bijna 60,,,lol

I remember that winter! School was closed (fantastic), NO SCHOOL FOR THREE WEEKS. The water pipes supplying the house froze so we had to get it from the cow-shed on the farm. I had a new scooter with pump-up wheels that Christmas (though I would have preferred a bike). We did not have a TV because my father felt that TVs were 'not educational' LOL

+Stephen Smith Sweet friend, I am awful with these Google pages, I just discovered your reply. I am so sorry, this way our contact blurs away if not more alert. My dad worked at Philips so we had television on an early stage. The children in our neighbourhood came to watch childrens tv etc.

+DirkjeA The family of the boy next door, Gary Lloyd had a TV. That way we could watch 'Fireball XL5' and 'Thunderbirds' and he could play with my home-made go-cart (ie soapbox cart) and train set in return. It worked out OK.
