De La Riva guard is extremely effective for sweeps, attacking submissions, and maintaining guard. This course provides the most common scenarios you will encounter, and focuses on using gi grips in DLR. With particular emphasis on a non-inversion based style, where we look to directly sweep, or transition into guards such as sit up guard or X guard.

is it a viable no gi option? what modifications are needed for nogi?

When I tried it in nogi, guy on top didn't want to give me space to get my left leg thru between his legs. without a grip on pants with bottom guy's left hand, it's much harder to make it happen in my opinion.
