Growing up, especially at family gatherings, after the main “occasion”, abantu abadala (uncles mostly) would drink whilst music plays gently in the background as they talk and laugh, you’d think no one is listening until a certain song comes on and they call you from the distance to “nyusa ivolume but not kakhulu” my uncle (ubab’omncane) would know ukthi it’s at 10 and ask you to increase it to 15. Listening to this album has brought back those memories which we haven’t been able to share (recreate) as a family. Thank you man of investing your craft, thank you so so much and to everyone who contributed to the making of this project, it evoked something in me.
