The image of each particle is as follows: When something is attached to a place and doesn't move=に When something moves or there is an event or incident in a space=で I think it's a good way to memorize commonly used verbs + particles as a set, as an idiom.

で 는 "~에서 " 가 쓰일 때 に 는 "~에 " 가 쓰일 때 구분해서 쓰면 될 듯.
