De-winterizing is one of my favorite things to do. Great information. Last time we hooked up to city water I forgot to put the plug back in and it was pouring right out of the other side. It was a quick reminder. Enjoy your summer travels.

Great video for my Jayco. I couldn’t get hot water into the faucets. I watch your video again and saw how you had the valves on the back of the tank. Switched them and voila, wonderful hot water!! 🚿 Thanks 😂

Good Video Scott, I'm sure it will help someone out with dewinterizing.. I did my coach last week for the first time and what a delight that was.. Two bathroom sinks, two toilets, washer, dish washer, and aquahot.. Well at least I know how to do it... Have a good one and thanks for sharing.

Man! Thanks so much! As more of a tech guy, RVing is totally out of my wheelhouse but I'm loving it so far. I was going to take my Jayco to a dealer (I dragged it to Tucson from Cleveland) to de-winterize it, but I also want to learn the systems better and figured I'd take a crack at it myself. Pretty sure this video taught me most everything I'd need to do it! Mine is a tiny 145RB, but I think everything you are doing here translates to mine more or less exactly. If I remember right, only difference is that the bypass valve is underneath the sink. Thanks again!

Great detailed video showing step by step how to dewinterize your camper. You know, Scott, if you and Marie moved down here to Florida, at least during the winter, you would not have to winterize or dewinterize your rig. Haha.
@BikesBoatsBivouacs2 жыл бұрын
Even if I didn't move I could snowbird it and avoid winterization. Lol. Thanks for watching.

Thank you for this video! We have a similar Jayco and it helped so much. I do wonder about sanitizing the hot water take too though? I guess the heat is what will do that on it's own?

When do you un-bypass the tank? Before all that? How do I take care of the remaining anti-freeze in the line to the bottle? And why did you wait to mention *not* putting the vinegar water through the water heater tank until the end?
@BikesBoatsBivouacs7 ай бұрын
After I sanitize the tanks I then reset the valves to allow water to flow through the water heater. If you pul the hose out of the antifreeze bottle with the pump still running it should injest the fluid and clear the line. I then put a plastic bag on the winterization hose. I forgot to mention it. Thanks for watching.

We are on the verge of buying this exact model as first time trailer camping. Do you have or could do a winterizing and newbie how to set up at campground? We know nothing about RVing. Love your videos and thank you! From your videos looks like you are near mid Atlantic like we are.

Hi Dawn, I have a video on setting up my rig when I bought the first RV. It is the video of the Lancaster KOA. I set up my KZ 180 which will be set up just like my Jayco 224. I'll do a winterization video prior to next winter. When my rig is under warranty I have the dealer winterize it, once the warranty expires and do the winterization myself so look for that video in September. Thanks for watching and enjoy your rig. I am near Reading PA.

Did you pump the holding tank dry of bleach water, or just until you smell it? If the latter, your tank will still have left over bleach.

I drained the tank with the low point drain. Thanks for watching.

First timer question here... How do you introduce the bleach and vinegar into the freshwater system? Ours is just a screw-in with a hose ('22 jayco eagle 29.5 BHDS) so I'm unsure how we would be able to pressurize the bleach and vinegar to get it into the freshwater system
@BikesBoatsBivouacs Жыл бұрын
Hello, if you don't have a fresh water tank, then you could use the hose that puts the anti freeze in the system. Sometimes the fresh water tank fill is on the opposite side. When I looked at your unit specs it indicates there is a fresh water tank with an 87 gallon capacity. Thanks for watching.
@abbyschock2342 Жыл бұрын
@@BikesBoatsBivouacs yes thank you, I didn't explain myself very well. Where are you screw the freshwater hose into fill the freshwater tank, there is a screen over that opening that bulges out, so I will just need to figure out how to sort of shoot the vinegar past that screen as I can't tip any sort of shot glass or cup into the hole opening. Appreciate the response!
@BikesBoatsBivouacs Жыл бұрын
@@abbyschock2342 I would get a squirt bottle to shoot the mixture into the tank.

I do the one tank off on the propane too. I have also had someone else light my stove with the cover down and bust it. That was 2 years ago and the video of replacing it has about 12k views so apparently it happens a lot… lol
