I wrote on Emily's but I'll write on yours too just how much I enjoyed this. It flowed seamlessly and it portrayed this complicated family perfectly.

So do they take the character of Deacon and beat him over the head in the writers room? Wow. Very beautiful and touching video. Wonderful job.

Love that you guys made a vid for their relationships. It's all so very sad and screwed up. I'd never heard this cover of the song before but it worked really well for this.

Oh, that hurt. Incredibly powerful vid, hitting right in the feels I didn't even know I had about their impressively dysfunctional family!! Putting it all together like that, it's all been very tragic... I never liked Beverly, but somehow this video makes me sympathise with her a little. And that's a beautiful, fittingly haunting cover of Bad Blood!! Nice vid!

+emz10000 Thank you so much! There are a lot of cool nuances to the story even if she was a lot of drama on the show:D

And here, I'll write my comment on your parts. I was really impressed! I wasn't surprised, but your parts feel so much better than mine! I'm glad you used multiple scenes I had been thinking would be perfect for certain lyrics ("Did you think we'd be fine?" "ghosts" etc) and I really enjoyed all of your beautiful editing. You really captured some amazing Deacon moments that I wouldn't have thought to vid, like I didn't even know there was a possible painting her bedroom yellow parallel to make, I hadn't really noticed what they were doing/understood that the first time I watched 4x02 and 4x03. I'm really glad you managed to get the craziness of Scarlett having to see Deacon in the season 1 finale in here... and just so much of this. ;) Really lovely parts and because you did a lot of the parts with fewer voiceovers so that viewers could really hear those lyrics, when those same lyrics repeated (like "band-aids don't fix bullet holes", etc) I felt more freedom to just use as many voiceovers as I wanted, so thank you for that. You really did do an epic job with all of your parts. So many amazing moments and I'm glad to see every single one of them in here. I also think you set the tone for the entire collab just PERFECTLY in that part 1. Truly, really great way to establish all 3 characters and their relationships to one another in the opening. Scarlett's face at 0:22 is so intense and amazing and so perfect for "Bad Blood", the end of that first half of the first chorus -- a scene with all 3 of them and just... yeah. (Also that whole scene, we didn't vid it in this collab but I just love how when Scarlett bursts with all of her anger, which I kind of vidded a little of at 0:46, so after that moment but before what you vidded at 0:22, Deacon looks at *her*, at Scarlett, and he's clearly not thinking about anything in that moment except how upset Scarlett is, and he wants to quell it a little if he can, all because he cares about her. It's actually a subtle background but to me, very loving moment from Deacon toward Scarlett. And it's just such a fascinating reaction to have - he could've been protective of his sister, could've joined Scarlett in yelling at Beverly for not wanting to save his life, could've done multiple other things, but instead in that moment he's only thinking of being protective of Scarlett, it seems.)

I also like how at 2:55 in your part you can see the Deacon/Scarlett photo in Santa hats on the fridge, too. Even more family moments got squeezed into this vid that way. :P Lol.
@VioletEmerald9 жыл бұрын
Oh and 0:55 with Deacon bring hit where he's weak with he "you drank" comment and then not being able to breathe when she's being taken off life support, you edited it in such a powerful way, like he can't breathe *because* he's thinking about how it's all his fault, how he should've never been an alcoholic or whatever and then Beverly would still be alive. I didn't remember when that "I couldn't breathe" moment of Deacon in the car was from until I was editing Scarlett "unplugging" Beverly and finally rewatched the scene but I love that part of yours in the collab now way more, knowing that detail of where the moment is from in the context of the show.

+luvtheheaven5 Wow thank you so much for all the comments:D Yeah our voiceover using balances out nicely. And I'm so glad you thought the opening was perfect! It's always such an interesting challenge to set the tone for the video. I love that scene where Scarlett confronts Beverly too. I think Deacon is both feeling guilty about putting them in that situation, and sad for them all, and maybe just tries to take some of the anger and sadness away from them and put it on himself. It's very interesting. And thank you so much for the last comment too:D Their family always knows where to hit the hardest;) Deacon tends to close his eyes when he's by himself and thinking about his mistakes, it's like they punch him in the face in a way. I just love Chip :D

Hi Suvi and luvtheheaven5. Thanks for the amazing vid - a nice birthday present yesterday a new Nashville vid! But oh, it's Beverley!!! Well you did a really nice job with the subject matter. One of your other commenters says she felt some sympathy with Bev after watching but I could not go that far. I'm afraid I really dislike her and even your supreme talents cannot rehabilitate her in my eyes. I just remember her comment to Rayna about how she had to donate the liver because Ray's money offer had put her in an impossible situation. Just donate the damned liver b****! Phew, now I got that off my chest - your vid did make me think - Deacon and Bev's parents must have been seriously effed up to produce two such damaged children. I do feel for them both what a horrid start to life. Still I can't forgive her for locking Scar in the cupboard Harry Potter style. Lots of things to like about the vid - nice music choice, great voiceovers and interesting and thought-provoking choice of scenes. Deacon and the yellow room is particularly heartbreaking. And we had a couple of Deyna scenes for us diehards. Many thanks :)
@VioletEmerald9 жыл бұрын
I think all 3 Rayna moments in the vid this time were my doing rather than Supsi85's lol. I'm not even a diehard shipper of them. Lol! ;) Thanks for the amazing comment, haha. I just wanted to say that.

+Isolation Shepherd Thank you so much! I was scared of Bev in S2 but lately I've learned to enjoy how well she's been written and also the acting is so good. So from a storytelling point she's very fascinating, also all the things she brings to the Claybourne story. And I'll be back to vidding Deyna eventually;) Thanks for the long comment
