I don't think you guys realize that Death's Number 2, The Principal, The Night Nurses' Boss, is Niko from the future. She literally said the same thing to Edwin and Charles, that Tragic Mick said to Niko before she took the "lucky charm". Something to note the only person to ever call Mick, Tragic Mick, is Niko and if you reverse the Tr and the M you get....Magic Trick, I have a feeling there is more to Mick than just him being a Walrus. Also, you notice the sliver of white in her hair. I don't think that it was Niko in the Igloo with the Sprites. I think that there was something trapped in that bear and it was unleashed, perhaps possessing her and saw the value in the Sprites and took them with whoever this being is.

I would have probably associated Death and number 1 more than anything, she is the one in charge of death itself. I did mention that The Principal is Niko from the future and touched on Tragic Mick's name... I think it's a reference to all the trinkets and magical items he sells and that really, he himself is a magic trick being from the thumb of a goddess.

also as soon as niko showed up in white, my nerves were through the roof. white is what you wear to a funeral and is associated with death in japan, combined with the more traditional cut of her outfit, made me feel like she was about to jump off the roof in the opening, then i wondered if she was wearing it as a sign of 'mourning' that her friends were leaving, but maybe she could feel her time was up?

My theory is that NIko is actually one of the Endless, mainly Delgight before she turns into Delirium. Delirium to me seems like a character that would represent Niko.

How would the person be niko if 1. Once you die you no longer age or if 2. She somehow didn’t die and just became a member of the afterlife does she still somehow age even though apparently they live for eons? I don’t think in this series time manipulation is a thing since even the afterlife follow a very linear western perception of time. If somehow two nikos could share a single timeline then I fear we are stepping into umbrella academy territory….

I think you make a good point. Considering other entities like Death and the Night Nurse have been around for eons, then yes Niko being The Principal does throw a spanner in the works ... Unless, time is being used and the Niko we see who 'dies' actually travels back in time (thanks to the lucky charm bear) to start her journey who then grows up, does, joins the afterlife and becomes The Principal kind of how we saw in shows like Lost -- bit specific but a possibility nonetheless 🤣🤣 I think there is more we are missing, something with that bear token and Tragic Mick. It's like he knew to give her that.

@@Q-Dads I’m thinking since we were shown “niko” at the end with the dandelion gods I think she is no longer alive: 1. If she was still alive and human I would assume the gods would try to take over her body again 2. It looks like they are trapped in a desolate ice land (maybe a realm of some kind, this could be caused by the bear charm) and if the is the case then I doubt the charm traps both regular humans and mystical/supernatural beings. I think her soul is trapped somewhere and maybe them choosing to reinforce the line about doing good was to hint at the fact that the Niko reveal would happen at the end. The line might be referring to the fact that Niko didn’t move on and we will still have a chance to save her in season 2; thus keeping her within the dead boy detective agency.

🤣 that's very true, it takes a great person to go against their own theory!! I think you are right, the phrase was probably just to say she isn't lost or the Detective Boys get a second chance too and that Niko is fact stuck in a different plane, some kind of limbo realm. Also, It's not like the 2 people can't be the same, it's not like stranger this haven't happened -- walruses being made from the fingers of a goddess, turning to human and living with the ability to see all paranormal beings! Let's hope season 2 answers this!!

@@Q-Dads I just checked the actress’ instagram and she confirmed her character is still alive and that it is her sitting in the igloo at the end. She has no idea where her character is though. So I can’t wait to see what happens next season
