I started playing after watching Kevin's streams. A few days in, playing as Huntress, I had a match EXACTLY like the twins match kevin had. The people being a-holes sucks, but just like Kevin, I also got the 4k. People like them get obsessed with being bullies in the match, and it ends up catching them in the ass. When I did it, I had three dead and a Laurie opened the gate, clicked her light, t-bagged, and blinded me. I blindly tossed a hatchet, downed her, and picked her up before she could crawl out. Watching her die on the hook was VERY satisfying to end the match.

I love DBD, it's so fun being the killer, but I stopped playing after a while because my social anxiety was already pretty high, toxic players were only making it worse (my hands were actually shaking so hard I could hardly control my killer and my teeth were chattering). I was always nice to survivors and had some really fun moments, but a lot were doing the teabagging, flashlight clicking and then complaining about me being bad and blind. Like why complain about the killer being bad? Isn't it more fun than constantly dying? Oh well.

@Cody Last Name Yeah no I definitely know not everybody means to be toxic by acting that way, I did play as survivor a few times and there's only so many ways to communicate, but it just doesn't feel great when you're a killer and you're already pretty bad at the game, only to have the survivors "mock" you for it (at least it felt that way to me). But, like I said, I also had many great and fun experiences, it wasn't all bad. I'm probably just overly sensitive, especially with my anxieties lmao

People in this game are really ruthless to new players. Even after 1700 hours of it, I get genuinely close to crying during extremely toxic matches as killer. It can completely ruin my day. Really, don't blame yourself at all for not being able to handle it. People are cruel in the DBD community. Sensitive or not, players go way too far with the teasing or insulting a lot of the time. With how much pressure is on you when trying to manage 4 people as killer, that toxicity can get to you even faster than it normally would. The most you can do to avoid it is play SWF or KYF, both of which are fun in their own right but feel completely different from regular killer. I know that this is kind of long for a reply, but something about how you described the experience was weirdly saddening to me. I hope you're doing a hell of a lot better away from this game.

@@ouch9129 Hey, thanks a lot for your kind reply :) I'm sorry to hear you also face a lot of toxicity, it really is a shame since the game concept is so fun, I wish people would act less competetive and just have fun. The competition and high expactations and responsibility that both roles come with reminded me of my very short LoL experience, which was also ended rather early because of one player insulting me and stressing me out for not playing the way he wanted me to, even though I had just gotten started in the game and had no idea about it (school friends had talked me into trying it back then). I played DbD a lot with my friend, but I was bad at being a survivor and a KYF is only really fun when there's more people to play with. Maybe some day I'll get back into playing again, but right now I'm feeling better without it. Thanks again for your comment, it warmed my heart

@@TinyChubbyBird Honestly, I really hope people get over the competiveness too, even if that's probably never going to happen. I also played League for awhile back in 2014 (i think). My sibling was super into it and I decided to join to try and have something in common-- but that game *seethes* toxicity even more than DBD. I quit from the extreme toxicity and inability to play what I wanted. I was still learning, would end up forced into a role I didn't understand yet and onto a character I didn't know by my teammates, and then get flamed for not playing it well or "intentionally feeding" when I genuinely just was really confused on how to play. One reason I can even deal with DBD is the lack of a chat mid match. It helps me deal with the pressure a lot more. The day they add in-game voice chat or chat in general is the day I'll literally have to quit lmfao. Definitely don't rush getting back into DBD until you're ready-- if you're ever even ready at all. The game has so many amazing elements but the toxicity is rampant. I do love the game a lot, but the community makes it one of those games you've gotta be mentally prepared for otherwise you'll ruin your day instead of being able to relieve stress with it. At the very least, I found that as I got better, I got less and less toxic players. Sometimes I can actually get like 7 or 8 killer matches without toxicity. I think some people just do really well disassociating themselves from whatever insult they're getting. Zet0r definitely does really well with it. He doesn't seem to be obsessive with the game which is definitely for the better. I have an addictive personality and some days I literally can't hop off no matter how frustrated and upset I get. I'm sure we'll both get to the point eventually where we can play a game and not get emotionally strained by it. But until then definitely don't even worry about the concept of getting back into it. (Don't worry, the reply wasn't too long. You have no idea how much I have to delete from any comments I make.) Also glad to know you're feeling better! Mental health is #1 priority, even if it means ditching a hobby you're passionate about. You also definitely don't need to thank me, lol. I just felt really concerned and wanted to make sure you were doing better now. I know how awful anxiety like that can be.

Well played on the game with the toxic group! It's good to see karma work out. The comment was right about them being bad. Looping is good because it gives the other survivors time to work on the generators but they ALL crowded you which just wasted their time and slowly killed themselves by getting repeatedly rehooked. Also while I'm not into the whole manners thing keep in mind it isnt camping a hook if the others are around it. It's one thing to just sit there and wait for people but if people are already there its ridiculous to be expected to just walk away from them and let them get the unhook so dont stress about those situations.
