Well if they didn't fade halfway they would be way too long for the animation.. but they could just change the animation to fit the scream... just like they changed running animations they could just make a longer hook animation and the scream full lenght

I think there are sometimes you’ll hear the full thing, not when hooked but I think with moris. Like I think the Cenobite’s new mori extends their screams, when the chains rip into them they give the full scream so you’ll get to hear that entire thing. Then when they get dragged down it fades.

It used to cut off when you were close, but play the whole line when you were far away, they changed it to be cut off map wide though >:( im assuming for actors like zarinas scream where it kind of peaks the mic halfway i dont know, but if you were far you wouldnt be hindered by the sound curtain cuz killer is over far away :(
