Sounds like you might know good classics to recommend? Do you know of any old movies that are entertaining as Sullivan's travels, or it's a wonderful life?
@jeaniebottle6758Ай бұрын
@@privateprivate1865 I would not dare to start, so many films to see, you must decide for your self. I suggest, you know what you like & revue those, others similar are near by.. happy journey 2u.

Great movie. Huntz Hall plays a real tough guy in this movie. He was eighteen years old here.

I found this thanks to The Sopranos. Tony Soprano mentions “The Bowery Boys” in an episode in reference to having to sneak into his Uncle Junior’s house via the back stairs.

This use to come on back in the 80’s on Turner’s Classics. Good ole days. They also go by “Dead End Kids”. So you can find some other movies of them under this name.

The actress playing the sister in this movie reminds me of Judy Garland. Her looks, her mannerisms; this is interesting to me.

Helen Parrish. She actually reminds me more of Norma Shearer.

Great movie 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿. The cast was excellent. Johnie's Mom Marjorie Main just one of the greatest character actors in pictures. Very entertaining from the beginning to the end.

Love seeing the Dead End kids or Bowery Boys. I guess Slip Mahoney wasn't the leader yet. Not as much comedy from the boys in this one but still great. Surprised I hadn't seen this one.

Anyone recognize the mother of Billy Hallop in the movie? I couldn’t place the face at first but then I recognized her as the actress who played Bogart’s mother in “ Dead End” who rejects him because he comes back to the old neighborhood as a famous gangster. Now there is a great movie with the Dead End kids and Humphrey Bogart. 👍

Back in the 30s! When they thought you could put violent criminals in a school in the suburbs with no bars to make them play nice after 18 months. Today those kids would be in jail.

They didn't understand back in those days, about things like personality disorders and lead paint. Those old reform schools weren't very effectively and not very secure. The farmers who lived nearby were always terrified. Send em off for adult sized sentences at maxies with pod style housing. That'll make the little monsters think twice.

I wonder why they didn't cast Leo Gorcey in this film. Could it be cause he was showing the mark of da squealer on his face? First time I seen Huntz Hall as leader of the gang.
@RaptorFromWeegee Жыл бұрын
They didn't get no Leo Gorcey in this picture on account a Leo wanted more money, see?! And Leo nevah showed no mark a da squealer, he was an alright guy, he was.
