wow okay so every animatic ive seen portrays this scene as 100% guided by lust but THIS animatic.. the concern on JD's face when Veronica explains the reason she's in his bedroom and the fact that the red in his face goes away completely and he looks like he's about to complain and offer some solution, JD not wanting to slap Vero hard, the gentle sleeping next to eachother in the last frame, Veronica holding JD's face and putting some hair behind his ear, and the forehead kiss, and JD's hand kiss and the genuine care they show for eachother throughout the whole scene shows LOVE rather than lust and i think that's just so great and makes their relationship just SO much more tragic like.. wow good job :,) this was an amazing portrayal of this scene & the best ive seen

I agree with you, Bunnyotaku777. There are some animatics that have better portreyals of small parts of the scenes, but for the overall meaning MissyAsylum really nails the overall feel of the song. They also manage to maintain an excellent continuity of character between each number that isn't as strong in some of the other portrayals of these scenes.

This wasn't out of lust at all. I can tell that she just wanted comfort and went to Jason for it, despite it all in the end he gave her what she wanted which was love. Veronica trusted him and he loves her dearly, just knowing that both of them were damaged and tried to reach out for comfort during this was both beautiful and sad because for those who saw the movie or the Musical their relationship doesn't end well.

Oh yes, there's a lot of amazing material out there- film directions from various movies as well as original storyboards from Disney and other animation studios that are phenomenal! I haven't studied enough of them but I aspire to improve myself by studying them in the future! I am by no means even close to professional, haha. I think that Madison was really excited, and while I definitely am not the best animator out there, I appreciate the enthusiasm that their comment gave. I can't speak for them of course, but I didn't really get the impression that they truly believed it was the best animation in the world. There were so many details in this that i loved. This animatic really does an amazing job of showing more than just the lust, which wasn't the only driving factor in Veronica's decision by a long shot. This shows the tender affection they both have for eachother and JD's hesitation showed that. And when she was talking about Heather saying she had to go, JD LOOKED CONCERNED AND IT WAS SO CUTE! Also, you showed she was drunk, quite beautifuly i might add, which is something that tends to be forgotten or not portrayed in this scene very well. AMAZING JOB

Out of all the animations I've seen to this song, I definitely like this one the best, it almost makes you forget that JD is a psychotic murderer. He really loves Veronica, and he seems so concerned about her when she's talking about how Heather wants her gone. Like... here's a girl that is willing to give you what many guys crave and in that moment he was more concerned about her well being than his own pleasure... I love the movie, I wanna see the live action version but honestly... I wish it could have had a happy ending. JD really did love her he just... needed help... structure and stability, she could have given that to him if the two just stayed together. :c Still, this is an awesome animation! I think this is one of my favorite animatics for this song, like, once the 'sexy' stuff starts up most animatics just treat it as steamy, but I really liked how you were able to convey that JD and Veronica really are just a couple of Awkward virgins trying to do the do("How to foreplay?? bite?? BITE???" "LESS BITING LESS BITING") Making JD a little more dubious about how exactly Veronica came to breaking into his room in the middle of the night was a fun touch. I also really liked how Veronica was truly afraid of Heather's wrath and JD looked clearly enraged for a moment before the sexy time started, lovely foreshadowing.

I've watched a lot of animatics for this song and none of them have quite captured how I think the scene where Veronica is singing to JD about how he's beautiful would go and how he'd respond except for you. That balance between gentle awe and worship and a quick look into his darkness at the mention of numbness was just brilliant. I also adored the obvious affection they had while they had sex. It was flirty, sexy, and fun, just like the song suggests. Kudos to your artistic abilities!
