Dead Keenedys is possibly the punkiest band i've ever seen, the politics, the speech, the anger, the laughter. Just brilliant

better than punk because these include "relevant social commentary", to use my posh voice

Start a band, it's how punk rock got started. You say local bands play in the little local club an realize, hey, I can almost do that also. It's where the whole DIY thing came from. No one was trying to do anything other than, since no one else would put out music or put on shows unless we did it ourselves.

Ya and they were so right I used to listen to them in grade 10 I thought they exaggerated but now I think they are prophetic AF

Definitely, you keep stripping the masses, cause division it will leave us with nothing. A human with nothing to lose is dangerous, and there will be millions of us with nothing to lose very soon....

How prophetic is this song, in 2022, and heading into 23, 24 😮

not prophetic. Just good writing and being well informed.

What three tracks fit better into the DKs Trio Of Future Hopelessness? My thre are Moon Over Marin, This Could Be Anywhere, Soup Is Good Food. It’s hard to pick a song from Fresh Fruit, as much as I would’ve liked to, but so much of that material is reflection upon the past.

DK are a product of the Reagan and Nixon era. They obviously are mildly Republican and religious, just not too serious about religion and politics. Same here. Great band!
