Guarantee that the sheen and luster on the floor is still the original.. so hard to believe that this mall will soon be 20 years old.

SAD !!!

It’s a shame that it has failed. It’s much nicer than most malls. It’s amazing that they are able to keep it so clean with practically no renters paying.

Since the Gate for Dick's Sporting Goods was closed, I think we can infer that either the store was closed, or they were having trouble opening the gates for that store to access it from the mall.

The store was open, and the sign stated trouble with the door. The only other reason they would close it is due to being understaffed and not having employees at those registers.

This mall fell on hard times from its beginning. The mall was constructed in 2006. However, it was not fully filled at the time it has opened. Then the financial crisis of 2007-2009 which devisated mall attendance and a lot of retailers were downsizing. Some of its tenants pulled out and later some of its anchors closed. It also had to fill some of its tenants with non-traditional tenants including ITT Technical Institute, fitness gyms, and other services. Some of these eventually closed as well. In 2015, the mall went into foreclosure and was bought for $100 (yes that cheap) by Wells Fargo Bank. Then, in 2018 the mall was later sold to Namdar Realty Group, a known dead mall slumlord. Then a couple years later the COVID-19 pandemic hit, devastating the mall with even more closures. So sad for such a new mall.

I don't understand how the building is still open. I was there when it first opened and you could barely walk.

Maybe this is a hot take, but I LOVE the Mills aesthetic! Cincinnati Mills was my favorite mall! It’s a bummer Simon has remodeled all the thriving ones…

That was a very interesting mall inside. I just saw a video of someone driving around the outside of it. Can’t believe it deteriorated so quickly. Pittsburgh Mills is definitely one of the most beautiful malls in the Pittsburgh area (should be for being one of the newest malls in the country). I think the Mall at Robinson is the prettiest, but its store selection doesn’t fit my personal taste, so I don’t shop there much. I miss the 2008-era South Hills Village. Wrought-iron staircases and fountains at both ends. They never should’ve built all the small plazas next to it. The whole Pittsburgh Mills complex should’ve been one giant mall, I think.

What’s so odd, is I kept hearing voices but didn’t see any people. It was like the mall was haunted.

Most of them were either in one of the stores, in another part of the mall, or I edited around them.

Not even a Spirit Halloween store this year?

You can’t access the spirit Halloween from inside the mall but they do have the Halloween store where the JCPenneys was .

Is that mall going to close like Century 3 Mall did?
@MrTsolar3 ай бұрын
I’m afraid that it might, but hoping that it won’t.
