I thought once a person dies the state is automatically made aware of it, just like your Social Security checks stop immediately. The republican party is throwing thousands of citizens nationwide who were naturalized in the last year off the rolls as a deliberate strategy to call the election process into question. Even in blue states the republicans have challenged their registrations. I am a court clerk in Washington state and I participate in naturalization ceremonies constantly. The last step after receiving their certificate of naturalization is to register them to vote. My part of the ceremony. Republicans have questioned why the witness space on so many registrations is filled out by four people on hundreds of forms. That’s because we’re the court clerks, dummies. We are at the naturalization ceremony to witness their registration forms after naturalization. The exact reason why we’re there. Sometimes I think you have to be slightly stupid to be a republican.
