Thank you for making this video. Just a quick question : if you want to play a card for example food to add a food token to your colony food supply or if you want to play a card to resolve the crisis do you have to have a survivor at the colony? If so, do helpless survivors count? Keep up the great work.

You don't need to be at the colony in those examples. Think of it this way, if the action requires a die, you need a survivor at the location, for example attacking, cleaning waste, placing barricades; and if the action doesn't require a die, it can be done regardless of location, like adding cards to the crisis, requesting item cards, spending food tokens, the only exception being the Hand Off action, because both survivors need to be at the same location. And regarding the helpless survivors, they don't count as players survivors, aside from helpless they're useless 😂 so you need a player's survivor if you want to perform actions at the colony.
