This channel is what got me started making my own baits. I've only ever used d.o.p. for my baits, have never had any issues. I mostly use the back label, but have just recently got some of the floating. Baits always come out looking great. No need to shop around. U get what u pay for. Keep the content coming.

Black bucket worm blend or swimbait blend. Depending on how soft you want. Worm blend is softer then swimbait blend. Swimbait blend is a little more durable then worm blend. Generally baits 4 inches or larger I would use swimbait blend. Hope this helps. Also I do not use salt in my baits, adds moisture bubbles. Blk bucket is a sinking plastisol

I've been pouring since 1994. I started with Lurecraft. Good plastic, but expensive. I then ran MF for years. I started using Calhoun when Del became a distributor (Rest in Heaven Del). For years, I was using MF and Calhoun exclusively. Prices shot up reference supplies, shipping, and unfortunately, the distributorship of Calhoun. The distribution of Calhoun was not the distributor's fault. I continued using the remainder of my Calhoun plastic for personal use. Yes, I'm selfish. I then came across some freckle face, red head. It's not the kind of red head that I usually prefer. 😂😂😂 I started using D.O.P. I originally bought D.O.P. for the consistent availability and the price. Phthalate "free" was never a concern for me. I have good ventilation and wear a mask when I'm really pumping out the baits. Their is a learning curve when using a "Phthalate-free" plastic from any manufacturer. A vacuum chamber is a must. We all know the bubbles in plastic don't affect the bait. However, customers have high expectations of their purchase. As the little guy, we have to be better than the big guy. Even though the "Big guys" have bubbles, dents, and short pours. I will definitely be trying out the Red blend. It will be great for my Shooting Star. I will stick to the Black and White labels for my hand pours. Thanks Chris for the video. 100k is right around the corner!

I was wondering if it's possible to get the same type plastic that Nikko and Z-Man uses? I gladly spend more money on there baits because they last 10 times longer (no exaggeration) especially the Nikko baits. I have lost them getting snagged but have not worn a single Nikko Hellgrammite out yet.....FishOn.....Jim

The new Dead On Red Label seems to be a great choice as a "new user friendly" plastisol, to which point, I may have to dive into this as a next phase of my bait making! Maybe you could estimate how many of the baits we can pour with one gallon of plastisol. And compare the House Blend as well. I'd like to start out making a Pit Boss style bait. TIA!!

Welp i bought me a 5 gallon red label after watching this. I think i prefer it over the white label i been using. Less cloudy also i have been cooking my plastisol to 400 thinking i needed to hit that temp to have it do it's chemical process, now i know all i need to go to is 350, thanks again dude.

Been using Bait Plastics 142/242 for about a year now & other than price I have no complaints. I wasnt a fan of the sticky texture DoP Black has, even with perfect heating processes in place. That was my only gripe. It goes away after curing but it just annoyed me. I'll give them another shot for sure as I really like their colorants but the freight puts it passed BP's price. Tried the FGF/Calhouns as well, fair amount of bubbles but decent after degassing or letting it sit for 5 minutes after loading the cup. Ozark Tackle is REALLY bubbly.

I’ve messed it several brands of plastisol and have to say dead on is the best by far i have used. Handles excess heat, has low odor and remelts very well. It will always be my first choice for bait making!

If you use the red label plastic Which you say you can make very hot so if you're using the red label and you're doing a laminate let's say you're doing green bunking on top and they wait on the bottom so with the red label what would be the correct temperatures to do the lamination?

I currently am trying black label and house blend from deadon. Previously only used baitplastics brand. My impressions are deadon on seems more finicky about mixing. It REALLY must be thoroughly mixed or it’s a goey mess. Bp didn’t seem so finicky. But , to be fair bp has an opening big enough for a paint mixer and deadon doesn’t. Otherwise deadon seems to be clearer. But must be put in the vacuum chamber. Other characteristics like buoyancy will have to wait for ice out up here.. edit: yeah, two weeks later dead on going down the drain, ordering bait plastics. Dead on is way too temperamental for me. I’ve wasted 1/2 gallon and hours cleaning out goopy molds😢

I bought a gallon of the House Blend and and the first time I used it was a nightmare of flashing. Took a while getting the molds cleaned up afterward. The next go-round, I shot through a cold mixing block on the dual injector, and it worked better. Trying to remove the baits from the molds before the molds were dead cold was a problem, and the finished baits have to cure a couple days before they aren't sticky. Also bought a gallon of the Red Label Hard, and shot a few all-clear baits last night (with a bit of mica and/or glitter). On the plus side: Clear as glass, and very flexible. And for some reason, I was able to take 'em out of the molds after a few minutes without damaging the baits. Still a bit sticky but getting better as they cure. But definitely not "hard"...as @cody4672 noted in another post.

I know it’s just my 2 cents but my experience with DO is it runs soft compared to lures you would buy in the store. Worm blend would probably give you you Goldilocks for a 2” mold. Finesse will be VERY soft. More action but breaks a lot. Jerk/swim bait is what I run on most of my molds but I prefer them stronger and more subtle action I fish a lot of cold water.
