As far as I know the reboot rumor got started over some translation issues and there aren't any plans for one. I'd be pretty pumped if they did start working on one though.

DOA 6 is so underrated. I feel like they alienated the fans with avoiding the sex appeal and so many (expensive) micro transactions. If there is a reboot, I hope they have the balls to fix all this. Underneath, it’s such a solid and pretty fighter.

The game is still heavily sexualized. Anyone who says it isn't is delusional and probably has their standards set by hentai games. In my opinion they should have done even more to weed out those kinds of players.

@@asterisk606 you’re very quick to judge. That’s sad and I don’t appreciate the accusation. I don’t smoke weed nor do I do any other drugs. The game isn’t sexualized, however, it is racy. My point is that it was very minimalized in marketing the game in order to appeal to the mainstream. I’m not a confrontational person. So let’s both agree to remain respectful if this continues. I’m happy to discuss the game/series, but I will not engage in argument and I do not want to be told I’m some kind of druggie or that I have a warped mind because I like Dead or Alive. It’s a solid fighter with roots that go back to the Virtua Fighter days.

​@@brichan1851 I think you misunderstood the phrase. "Weed out" means "to remove (people or things that are not wanted) from a group." It's not related to marijuana. I didn't mean to insinuate anything. Sorry if it came across as that. I would say it is sexualized still. The outfits, idle animations, insane jiggles, literally being able to zoom in on sweating and panting characters at the end of a match, and have the volume increase the closer you get. There's not much more they could've done. I like DOA because of the gameplay. From my point of view, they shouldn't have leaned so far into what gave them the bad reputation and cut it out from the start. The Extreme games were a mistake. It soiled it for everyone else, which isn't fair. It dug Team Ninja into the hole they've been in for the past decade where they're pressured to appease a fanbase they no longer want to, but haven't earned the trust of others yet. The same issue crept up with DOA5 when they wanted to tone things down, but then reversed and went back to going all in on the thing they wanted to get away from. The most egregious was the monetization of DOA6. That's what most of the fans should focus on, not the perceived reduction of sex appeal.

@@asterisk606 thank you for being kind. I do agree that the gameplay is stellar. It’s fast paced and takes a lot of skill to master even one character. That’s something I have always loved about DOA and Virtua Fighter. About the “juggle factor,” I guess it never bothered me. Yes, it’s risqué, but I always liked how it made the game stand out amongst the crowd. The Xtreme games were novelty and may have hurt the franchise to some. I thought they were just dumb and goofy, but I did import DOA Xtreme 3 Venus for my Switch. I dunno. Maybe it just goes to the borderline he tai factor, though everyone is clothed to an extent. I just like Japanese manga, anime stuff. Lol. I agree completely that the monetization of dlc on ALL DOA games is outrageous. There is no excuse for it. I don’t mind downloadable characters and costumes, but God is it WAY too overpriced.
