Lol Nas just playing cool, plus he's in hov's house. Remember Nas got him with Ether, made peace but they kept slick dissing eachother until Jay threatened with his "I declare war concert. They made peace again and later Hov signed him to Def jam. They both know each other catalogue pretty well

Well Nas was rapping along to Jay Z’s lines in that video for the song with Dj Khaled “sorry not sorry.” They have very high respect and admiration for each other. They’re the goats. And it’s kinda sad that’s what u deducted from this iconic video…just appreciate greatness man.

Two of the Greatest to Ever Do It. One Might be a more Poetic Lyricist but the Other has made more of a Cultural Impact.
@Victor-cr3xi4 жыл бұрын
Jordan Sharpe it depends on how you look at it bc they both have different ways of approaching lyricism. I specifically used the word “poetic” bc that’s the best way to describe Nas as a lyricist. Nas is more abstract than Jay Z is bc he uses more imagery to paint pictures with words and explores different concepts of storytelling. Jay Z is a more subtle lyricist bc his lyrics take more to understand. That’s bc Jay uses wordplay, wit, and powerful metaphors to create double/triple entendres. So it really depends on how you look at it bc there are different types of lyricist.

A true full circle moment for those who know. Jay was inspired back in the day from that one verse “I’m out for Presidents to represent me” off Nas “The World is Yours” track. Nas was the biggest thing alive at the time. Jay’s career actually took off from his first album “Reasonable Doubt” featuring his hit “Dead Presidents.” These two had major beef but were actually really fans of one another. I’m seeing great maturity and forgiveness on both sides (those who know, know…) from my two favorite artists of all time…👀💕🤗🙏

This is beautiful. Once young rivals, now they are grown men performing this Dead Presidents/World Is Yours mashup together. There's enough room for both of them to get money and be great. Instead of ending like Biggie/Pac, they showed folks another way. Kudos to these 2 black kings.

If Jay-z ever mentioned someone on a song that means he respected them. To challenge some or to accept a challenge it means that you acknowledge that they are worthy of your time and vice-versa. He said “who’s the best MC biggie, Jay-z, and Nas” that was a shot and a compliment.
@sly982128 күн бұрын
I don't see it that way. In my opinion, Nas was showing respect to Jay-Z as a performer by letting him rap without interruption on 'Dead Presidents' in HIS concert and prefer to listen. On the other hand, Jay-Z showed his respect by backing him up, as he always does. They both have mutual respect in their own way
