Dead Rising 2: Off the Record is a re-interpretation of the Fortune City outbreak in Dead Rising 2 in which Frank West is the lead character instead of Chuck Greene.
The story is non-canon to the overall storyline in the series, a "what-if" alternate reality had Frank been in Fortune City to cover the outbreak. Frank even states in the trailer: "What would I have done?"[1]
The game was released for the Xbox 360, Play Station 3, and PC as a full retail disc for $39.99. In a quickly retracted June 30 posting, Capcom originally stated Off the Record will be released in North America on the 11th October 2011, and in Europe on the 14th.[2][3][4][5][6][7] On July 20, 2011 these dates were officially confirmed.[8]

Just Merge DR2 and OTR, then use case west as overtime mode. Chuck and Frank work together since Fortune City outbreak started, After the end of overtime, Chuck and Frank escape the facility with evidence, regroup Stacey, Rebecca and Katey. (It cause museum in DR3 had Rebecca Cardboard because Frank and Rebecca cover the story of Fortune End)

As much as i enjoyed chuck as a character my headcanon is that off the record is the real story, it would make more sense in DR3 too, how come the very same Chuck that we know became this drifter strip club owner? he's already proven his innocence, it seems pretty out of character to me lol, It would make more sense from a character development standpoint that he survived his encounter with Frank, still grieving katey and overcoming his alcoholism met another woman with an already existing child, said woman left him (not an uncommon ocurrence considering the life he would take soon after) and took in the baby and despite her name being Annie he called her Katey her whole life, hence the name everybody knows her as, also chuck in DR3 looks a lot like the chuck we see in off the record, his hair is slightly unkempt and he looks pretty disheveled, perhaps not being able to completely overcome his alcoholism on top of the authorities looking for him, im well aware thats not the case, but it would explain why frank didn't appear apart from the statues you can collect, being with rebecca away from all the chaos for once, also lets not talk about DR4... Ever.

I wish dead rising 2 off the record “story” should have been based on Las Vegas because the characters talk about an outbreak that happened in Vegas but us as the audience we never saw what happened or even knew about Vegas so they should have wrote the story where frank goes to Vegas to celebrate his victory in willemette and then we would have had the chance to see chucks wife too and how she died because chuck mentioned her getting killed by zombies in Vegas

Actually, the Las Vegas outbreak is shown in one of the comics. I believe it's _Road to Fortune,_ but I could be wrong. It shows Chuck and his wife attempting to escape the city before the firebombing.

The “Dead rising: case zero” takes place in the Vegas outbreak. Its the prequel to dead rising 2 and begins shortly after Chuck’s wife turns and infects Katey. Evidenced of how Katey in the game is still afraid of taking her zombrex, isn’t completely aware of what zombies are, and is wearing a bandage where she was bitten.

First time I played the game, I spent the entire time screaming at him during his cutscenes because I thought I knew what was coming... and then we got the big twist and I honestly and truly didn't see THAT coming. I just thought Stacey was colder towards Frank because he was selfish and didn't have a kid with him like Chuck did.

Back in the days when i owned a XBox 360 before my PS4. I brought "Dead Rising 2". Although i got as far as getting to the military arrival i never gotten a chance to complete the game. Then my "Game Informer" arrived & they had articles on "Dead Rising Case West & Dead Rising Case 0". I think those DLCs gives another perspective to the main story. Thank you host for this video for doing this game. Now i can see what I've missed.

Answering those who ask if this is canon. Story mode and sandbox mode are two dreams from Frank; confirmed by Capcom. Since Case West is canon (Frank was wandering Fortune City during the incidenr) and Frank probably interviewed Chuck, this makes lot of sense.

Honestly Off The Record should have been canon as the real DR2 since DR3's story sucked. Sure you could argue that Case West DLC was good and had Frank in it but that DLC shouldn't count since it was XBox exclusive.

Am i like the only one who have a lot of magazines in my inventory? I always have the 2 mags that has to do with survivors and sometimes the erotica mag for female survivors. And I also use gamble mags and psycho mags, in certain levels of the game. In the first game I used the books always. I love Dead Rising. I'm having a DR bonanza at the moment, playing all the games. It's fun!

Magazines take alot of inventory space , plus you only need the gambling a few times in the game so why carry them when you dont need them . Its better to have a good balance of weapons and health .
