That would be creepy as fuck, if they somehow retained speech pattern and memories, but with the same aggressive hostility necromorphs are known for, I’m just imagining walking into a room seeing Necromorphs randomly around talking to nothing, reciting pieces of code of conduct or some random part of a conversation they had days or hours before dying, just the memories from the human part when the Necromorph is less active, regardless I love the dead space universe, unfortunately the studio behind it has shutdown due to EA’s involvement so I doubt we’ll ever see new titles, a remaster of the original trilogy is less ambitious though and could be taken on by a different studio if EA are not so uptight with the rights to dead space.
@samanthawei28143 жыл бұрын
If you watch dead space awakening then you can actually see stross was connected to the hivemind because he knew things that only the hivemind would know. I think people who get brainwashed while alive, over time become part of the hivemind and when they die they continue functioning, but if you die in the beginning if an outbreak then its just your body thats getting reanimated. Also if you watch roanoke gaming which is a p good channel then he talks about how wall guardians and exploders are created from people who resist the hivemind, which is strange if you're already dead, but maybe what happened is they died with their brain intact and somehow continued functioning as themselves even after death and becoming necromorphs

Dead Space (the first two games, in this case talking about the first) is extremely terrifying, but in more ways than some people realize. This game may have it's jumpscares, and in many cases, they're pretty telegraphed. But what really gets under my skin about DS1 is the horrifying atmosphere and outstanding sound design. Every noise sets you off and gets you paranoid - distant clanking, movement in the vents, dissonant howling from God knows where, out of nowhere voices whispering what sounds another language like protocols and codes, and even Nicole's voice starts calling out Isaac's name (implying the Marker's breaking him down, and the effects of that are ten fold in the sequel). It's all so genius. The key to a great horror game really lies in sound design, to immerse you in the experience, get you as paranoid as possible. There's nothing in this bathroom, but I still don't feel "safe". Why? Because of these sounds. It makes me this franchise, it was so good back then.

Dead Space is a spiritual successor to System Shock and it was scary as all Hell! (edit: WoW! I'm not sure I can last the whole hour - so creepy!)
@silent_stalker36875 жыл бұрын
Krellian Kruge99 I’m not 100% sure about spiritual successor; it does have some major issues compared to the themes and story details of system shock 2... Personally I would opt for Soma to be a spiritual successor to System Shock due to the themes and story as well as the singularity event that kinda happened in system shock 2 in a way. The nanny cannot interact with Shodan in her state and Shodan cannot interact with them in her state. Both require a surrogate of their will to interact with each other - that being the player character. Dead space seems to take the environments into account as inspiration of their environments, themes and so on but it seems to have a Lovecraft inspiration in dead space 3 and a horror action vibe for dead space 2. There’s one game that is kinda similar to dead space. Dead space 3 would have questioned perception more of EA hadn’t been involved as the two multi-player characters wouldn’t likely be able to interact very much with each other outside of possibly some puzzles if the Co-op in dead space 3 and the SLC are shown where the player characters disappear and encounter a different enemy in one segment The dead space 2 prequel game seems to touch on perception too, not sure about the ‘no survivors’ dead space game exactly The series did seem to have some development into a system shock dynamic in its story and dead space 3’s environmental story and a analysis i had of he environment comparisons was very interesting as it kinda does have some hints at human mythology.... Dead space 3’s DLC doesn’t quite fit in with the book Dead Space martyr and I’m not 100% happy with how they buffed up the markers so much in the series, was okay but Dead Space Catalyst was... The Marker is Alice from resident evil’s live action movies at the time with all the buffs they gave it... It also feels kinda bad as if the ‘unitology is scientology’ thing is true it just feels like a hate piece which misses the dynamic themes of system shock completely... Heck, the Doom Novels can at least tackle the subject better than that go a extent; Dead Space Downfall even does a better job :/ Dead space 2 kinda could have done more stuff with the markers; as a example the reason a church usually has a single holding for a candle stick is that having multiple candle sticks symbolizes division in some places and the three place candle holders can kinda symbolize the three abrahamic religions which are major schisms in that series ; not counting the many more divisions including one I believe was made by Benjamin Franklin where he wrote his version of the Bible where it only includes the direct quotes of god and Jesus, and the other prophets. In his quote ‘the current church is the enemy of liberty’ when citing the restraints the current church imposed into the people. We’ve really found nothing but 1 marker until Dead Space 2 and Dead Space 2 is the first series to have multiple hive minds and features of such as well as a seemingly natural regenerator which may not be so natural in the prequel to Dead Space 2, and the details in the necromorphs slashers leading up to the Ubermorph. Im pretty sure the puritans following the original settlers may have had something to do with the lack of influence Benjamin’s Bible had as well as the treaties being broken shortly after the people who wrote such treaties with the natives ether were out of office or had died :/ There was a huge theme change that seemed to happen in dead space 3... and then a huge EA change seemed to happen
@krelliankruge99935 жыл бұрын
@@silent_stalker3687pretty sure there was a yt video from one of the dead space developers somewhere and they said that - though probably to be left open to interpretation - because at the time I think EA had the rights to System Shock if my memory serves - which it may not. ;-)

I would buy the original while it’s still available The remake is… not like the original in spirit or character, and we all know what games do if their originals outclass the remakes- often they remove it from being able to be played if it’s backwards compatible and worse is if they remove others of the same series. I believe this happened to the resident evil novelizations- after the failure of the 3rd remake the EBook variations of the originals seemed to have been removed from any way to buy it online. This makes me skeptical of the RE4 remake as well, small design decisions being removed or covered up is the start of any cancer forming. It is at least funny that people who cried that skirts are being removed also used the ‘oh it didn’t effect the gameplay so it doesn’t matter if it’s removed’
