I really think they did a good remake with this one. It just brings the horror of Dead Space into a new age for new players to enjoy. Man 3 deaths for the entire platinum is also pretty crazy, good job!

I also did my One Gun Run with my Impossible run. There is NOTHING more satisfying in that game then hitting that final Hive Mind shot when your OGR on Impossible.

Not sure if considered Cheese, but I did have to Close Out the game ONCE in my impossible run. I got caught up in the 2nd Levithan fight, had just finished it off, noticed low on air, shot the flesh off the wall and was just hitting E as the tank went to 0.

I just finished my first playthrough of any Dead Space game with the remake and I'm very confident that I died to pretty much any environmental kill possible. Warhead, Centrifuge, that asteroid. The only one that I may have missed was that part in the hangar where you have to burn the debris.

For me, this was one of the easier platinums to accomplish. Did it in 3 play throughs; one on hard, then on hard again for the one gun challenge, then on impossible so I’d have the memory and reflexes of 2 play through to help, but I probably didn’t need it cuz at least with impossible, you didn’t have to worry about limited saves and you can easily quit to the main menu if you suddenly feel like you’re going to be cornered or about to die. Final bit of the Hive Mind where it grabs you and you gotta shoot it’s weak spot or it’ll eat you was nerve wracking for me, cuz I wasn’t sure how long I had to kill it before it would lock me into the death cam that would brick my progress completely, so I opted to just quit to main menu and restart the boss fight if the hive mind wasn’t dead by the time he did two shakes of Isaac to indicate how long I had left.

Yeh, it's not much of a hard platinum trophy, but more so fun. I do wish the harder difficulties of this game were actually threatening though. Congrats on the plat though!

15:11 I died after placing the sos beacon and trying to fly back into the ship. The steel on the asteroid wasn’t even moving at that point and I tried to fly in and promptly died. Thank god it wasn’t my impossible run yet but it makes me terrified to think the hit boxes can be weird like that 😫

The flamethrower is actually so much better than in the original. I refused to use it because I remember how terrible it was from the original but in the remake, using the flamethrower in tandem with the plasma cutter is so ammo efficient because of the new peeling system

Btw flame thrower is one of the best weapons in remake, it's that and line gun that are my permanent slots l, if you couple it with the force guns gravity well it's a massacre, skew with the line gun.

Best normal weapons. Hand Cannon wins best "Hands" down lol. But in seriousness there are 2 categories of weapons in DSR, Peeling and Cutting. with the new pealing system certain weapons, Force Gun/Flame Thrower/MAYBE Contact Beam do a better job at peeling the flesh and muscle off. While the others Plasma/Pulse/Ripper/Line do a better job of snapping the bones left. This is why it takes SO many shots with the Plasma to actually snap limbs, its horrid at pealing flesh. Really they should of changed some weapons around, a change I would of agreed with considering systems in DSR, so you ended up with one Peel and one Cutting in the beginning. Id have said Thrower and Plasma as you CANT move the Plasma, its too iconic as the first weapon.

It is a shame you didn't use the flamethrower. It's actually one of the best weapons in the remake save for the Plasma Cutter of course. Also you could have made your life much easier in the nuke room if you just used the poles to kill the exploders. Either way, enjoyable video. Also what did you think about the Level 6 suit? I really liked the design since it was just a Valor suit but I've heard some people don't really like it.

Unlike alot of the lovingly re-created models from the original, the new level 6 suit design is just radically different from the original soldier rig design. That being said, it's not a bad design, and i like it, but i definitely would've preferred a more accurate model. Can't say if that's the same reasons others dont like it but thats my insight.

I will some time this year, Dead Space 2 is complicated in the sense that I did Hardcore in my own time recently and didn't die at all (I kind of know the game inside out) BUT I was thinking of doing it with Mouse and Keyboard only since I'm bad at playing games that way (new PC gamer here). Basically, I want to struggle for content but I don't want to FAKE the struggle, yah know lol Totally just rambled sorry lol
