Boogie is fucking amazing, but I feel like he didn't play to his strengths on this album. From what I've heard of him, he honestly has the smoothest and most natural rhyming ability since Eminem in his early days. Note I say natural, not sheer rhyme density like DOOM or Tech N9ne. Just in general too, he's a fucking amazing technical rapper. He's got the bars, he's got the delivery. But he doesnt focus on being a rapper on half this album. This sounds like Boogie trying to be Drake and while its not necessarily bad (cause sure, he's not a bad singer), I'm just a tad disappointed.

As much as I might sound a fanboy which I am, it is ironical when you see someone like Kendrick's music stating that it isn't for everyone or every vibe but then just because a new or supposedly less layered artist drops a project for a single theme, you bash it for what it is. I mean it should be both ways. Every artist's work should be given time. It just made me sad how deep the album is emotionally and musically (when you said it is trap when it isn't) and you couldn't appreciate it or maybe I am wrong and it isn't for everyone which nothing is.

It's a dope album with a lot of good content. He definitely knows how to set a mood. But i think the same thing that makes the album good is what deters it at the same time. It sets a mood but you have to be in a certain mood to really wanna listen to this but it's so somber all throughout. I wish he would have done more rapping then singing also. If you listen to him on Royce's project that verse was fire, i wish we could have gotten more than that. This album is good enough to make me wanna listen to his next project, i just think he could use some diversity in his sound.

The only corny line in that Em verse in my personal opinion was the "I.D." line. The sheep line never really bothered me; I was just like, "ok whatever". I thought the Dracula/Count line was pretty dope, but the end of that verse with all of those ad-libs was a true no-go for me.

In my opinion, the thing about the Eminem verse is that he's just having fun. He's on one of his artist's songs and just messing around with wordplay. None of it was meant to be taken serious, he's just out here saying "hey here's some funny lines that mean different things depending on how you say it." The idea bar, he was not trying to rhyme idea with beer, he said beer normally because in the background he says "ID ya" to complete the rhyme. I don't see how most people I see are shitting on the verse, because Em's just fucking around with wordplay it's not supposed to be hard or a head turner because of how amazing it is. I think the verses replay value is high because it sounds good, his delivery and flow is insane, and the bars are funny and clever.

His goal might be for it to feel like a drag maybe it’s just his very depressing state of mind in his songs that lead to the first song? I know personally when you’re sad/depressed it does feel like that shit won’t end and it gets to a point where that first song is more relatable? That’s what I took from it at least but everything else rap wise is good just the songs did need a bit more diversity.
