It's the practice amp that started countless musical journeys in the 1980's.. If I fix it, it may start another musician's career... who knows.

My first guitar amp that I got in 1986. Along with a Harmony Les Paul copy.

Although not a particularly glorious amplifier it gets a job done

Reminded why I bought Peaveys instead.. Of course a lot of gear was going around by then. What MOST of us were chasing was the sound of a late 60's Marshall JMP Super Lead. Gorillas were for kids who were starting out...

Some folks have nostalgia for Gorilla... I just fix what I'm asked to fix.

Many a youth started with one of these.... I figured it wasn't too far gone to fix it up for the next kid.

It's actually a bit fun to go back and work on some "cheap stuff". Sure, it's not a legendary tone machine... but it does what it needs to.

I immediately have 'first-crappy-amp p.t.s.d' triggered when I see a Gorilla amp. Literally ANYTHING you can buy nowadays sounds better! Nothing but Gorilla farts

That's the rumor....... but I've fixed a whole pile of cheap starter amps over the years, and they all sound about the same to me... if you're playing them at bedroom level clean, they work.
