Fun fact: majority of this was shot in youngboys backyard since he was on house arrest. Youngboy is basically the face of the 225 for this generation. Given that I am a Baton Rouge local, I can tell you he is basically the replacement for Kevin gates (my generation) and boosie as far as how people view him around here. While he was on house arrest he released a TON of music (too much for me to keep up with) which is probably why it’s hard to get recommendations. “No smoke” was his big breakout song and “I am who I say I am” ft. Kevin gates is one of my favorites, but I am also biased given that Kevin was the first and my original favorite rapper I ever listened to growing up. There’s a cool KZbin channel called RaRe Reports that tells stories (and murders) of everyone in Louisiana from Soulja Slim, webbie, Wayne, boosie to gates, jay da youngin, gee money, Youngboy, lit yoshi, etc… not sure if that’s something that you can post on your channel or not, but regardless it’s pretty shocking to watch honestly just to realize how gang driven cutthroat the town of Baton Rouge is. Youngboy been on the scene Wayyyy b4 Juice wrld. Youngboy just has a lot on problems with the industry and is often black-balled or isn't promoted as much. With that being said, he's still #1 or close to it for streams on KZbin. The way I'd describe what Youngboy music is.. is like watching Goku go Super Sayin. When you listen to the music you feel powerful and stronger. Like nobody can mess with you, and that's mostly because Youngboy produces insane Kill rap/Murder rap that he delivers with crazy metaphors, delivery, and vocals.
