Hi Philip I am new to your channel and have really enjoyed looking back over your videos. I live in Northumberland UK I fish primarily for Salmon and seatrout nowadays although I do fish and work part time at a small stillwater fishery. I am always on the lookout for new patterns to try and look forward to try some of the many patterns you have demonstrated on your channel. Regards from over the pond. Robbie

Do you happen to have a resorce for those mottled turkey feathers? It seems like they have been discontinued!!
@Adipper Жыл бұрын
Consider using mottled turkey flat feather as substitute. Nicely tapered and sufficiently long for Calibaetis.
@PhilRowleyFlyFishing Жыл бұрын
Hi Tim, I just double checked and they don’t seem to be available anymore. There are lots of great substitutes you could use including, turkey boots, bleached or dyed pheasant tail even hare’s ear dubbing. Cheers, Phil

@@PhilRowleyFlyFishing Thanks so much I really appreciate checking, I tie a simalar pattern and it's just SO PERFECT, but unfortunately I'm out of tan. I'll probably use pheasant tail. Thanks again.

@@timpearson4040 Hi Tim, a light olive, or if you can find it, light olive dyed over a bleached pheasant tail should work. Cheers, Phil

That sure looks like a Denny's AP Emerger to me
@PhilRowleyFlyFishing Жыл бұрын
It is similar to an AP Emerger which is a great pattern. I did some research and it’s English roots trace it back to the late 60’s/ early 70’s. The original featured a pheasant tail body and tail, peacock herl thorax and green well (badger) hackle. Cheers, Phil

@@PhilRowleyFlyFishing yep I hear you. I think I bought Denny Rickards booked for 6 months if it came out I've been using them Wayback starting whenever that came out which was probably in the early 00s I think. Hey thanks for all the work you do on KZbin I know it's a lot more work than most people realize
