I actually tried to make the escape sequence the hardest part when messing with the console. 5 extra watchers, 3 monkeys, 10 Agathas, and 15 clowns out and about the first part. I had 3 Agathas, 5 clowns, and 2 extra watchers at the portal area. But unlike you, I died countless times.

I see why the Dread Duckies can't be invited. There will be too many and it will be hard to get past the maze since they will get in the way. That's my prediction on why the Ducks weren't here.
