One time when I was younger, I somehow fell through the deforested area down into the baobab area. I heard a fossa, and I've never closed down a game faster 😂 I'm so happy people have found this game again

@@DiamondWither102 I didn't even realize this was Deadly Planet Mission! I remembered playing a Deadly 60 game in primary school and remembering it was a banging game well ahead of it's time. Found the same map layout and mechanics because of your video! I think you're the only one who has footage playing it!

@@DiamondWither102 Actually, just looked now and found there is footage of a guy playing the first game! His video is called 'Deadly 60:Plains of Tanzania' if you want to check it out. It's exactly how I remember! Thank you for making this video because I wouldn't have even known the difference between the first and second game. I didn't even know there was a second game made. I did think some things where different such as the animals but I would have never noticed and just thought it was an update or something. Thanks!

There's 5 parts currently on my channel if you haven't seen them yet, and there's even more that I'll upload at some point :) I vaguely remember playing the first Deadly Planet years ago, and I've found a way to access it, so I'll make some videos on that 👍 I don't think I've heard of Live n Deadly though, I'll see if I can find it somewhere :) I'm happy you enjoyed!

They're on Flashpoint, a large project to archive old Flash games that would otherwise be lost. You need to download Flashpoint on a computer to play the games though, and there are videos on KZbin that show how to do that 👍

I swear there's got to be a newer version of this game somewhere, because I remember you had to photograph either 30 or 50 of the red flowers as a special mission but that's not in this version

I think the special missions were available alongside the TV show, so since the show isn't running anymore, the missions aren't available There was also a mission about planting trees, and picking up lemur poop, and I forgot about them for years 😂

@DiamondWither102 oh yeah I forgot about those as well 😂 I've been playing around and it seems that the game has some legacy .xml files (just copies of the save file and backups I guess) and those special missions were mentioned in the files, but when I tried to access the main .sol file that has all the saves, and I've had no luck either due to software picking up an error or the variables not being coherent ect. Ect. My point is, it's in the code somewhere, and perhaps ifpossible we can enable them (the 30 spider mission is also mentioned in the code when opening the file with notepad, but notepad does not support .sol files) we can manipulate our coin-score , mission progress and enable other missions as well. Mind you I'm not at all a programmer, far from it, I'm just using basic PC skills I know and Google to help me. I really really hope we can get the full potential of this game because it was also my childhood growing up.

You say you're using 'basic skills' but you're already far ahead of me 😂 I had a small look at the code (can barely even remember how I accessed it) but couldn't find anything more than the names of the missions, and something about them being linked to the TV show. I guess just keep doing what you're doing and let me know if you find anything new 👍 I'd also love to see the full game again. Also, I don't know what state the game was archived in, so the 30 spiders required might not have all been in the game at that point. Although I don't fully know how archiving works so I could be wrong, I guess we'll see. Good luck with figuring it out, and if I happen to find anything too (unlikely 😂) I'll let you know

@@DiamondWither102 yo yo, I was able to access the game save file which contained the live data for the skull score and missions. There's a variable (or rather array) for tv missions but it's empty... (we'll came back to this later) I completed all missions except the 30 spiders, manually edited the mission data so i have photographed 30 spiders, logged it in and nothing happened... the mission was accepted but the upgrade wasn't unlocked. HOWEVER, I noticed that the tv missions seemed to have been coded in, but that actual thing that makes them missions havent. if you take a picture of a red flower you won't get a red frowny face. So if possible, somebody could code it to enable the missions, but that is however out of my reach.

Definitely out of my reach too, and I don't know anyone who could, unfortunately. It's a big step closer at least, and I applaude you for what you've figured out so far 👏 Also I completely forgot that it's the missions that unlock the final upgrade, I've been confused by that for a few months 😂 So we know what to do, just not how to do it, but we're very close, I have hope

YES I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO RECOGNISE IT It got removed from the BBC website a while ago, but you can still play it if you install Flashpoint Archive on a computer. Some of the Deadly 60 games were saved in that archive, including this one. Let me know if you find it or need any help installing it 👍
