Having fished multiple s in different sizes and colors, kzbin.infoUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 this is by far my favorite. One thing to be aware of is the sided willow blade. One side is silver and the other is the green/orange shown. This is not bad, just unconventional. In terms of fishing, I have found the lure works just fine without a tail like a craw or shad. That addition is up to you. Also, the hook part where you attach the swivel snap or tie the line is a problem on baits these days, since it's able to slide up and down. However this lure seems to be tight enough that that doesn't happen often, and you can solve it by putting a thin slice of medical tube over the hook before attaching the line. Like others have said, it's really magic on a good windy day.

Fantastic! I have been getting myself ready for using my spinning rod for the first time this year. Hoping to catch sea bass from the shore behind the rocks at low tide. I have many different lures in by kit. Floating, surface, metal, and soft . Too many I'm thinking now. You have showed me the answer to the question that has been playing on my mind for sometime now." How to make it look real?". Eureka! One fish chasing another is the both simple and effective solution. Why didn't I think of that? Perhaps I have too many lures to choose from, making my only choice simply by changing one lure for another. Seeing your rig in the water was so convincing and will I'm sure set off the feeding instincts of fish like Trout and Bass. I am going up to my studio and tie up some of these teasers. Thanks for posting your tips. Today you have made an old fisherman hopeful, happy and keen to cast his line. Tight lines
@MarcinKantorКүн бұрын
Brilliant to get a comment like that. Thank you for that and happy I was able to help. In fairness, the rig is very, very good. I had many anglers reporting back to me how it helped them catching their first bass or the biggest bass. With that said, don't worry too much about making it look real. You will be working your lures at a certain speed. One option is to imitate something very close. I find westin sandy andys, OSP Do Live stick, Evobass lures and many more. But then you get a lot of reaction bites, just from working your lure at a certain speed. Not too slow so they could investigate it, not mad fast. Just fast enough so they don't have too much time to inspect and need to make a yay or nay call

Hi Marcin, Brilliant videos, thanks for all the tips, especially this one. On a recent morning session during a sw scotland fishing competition I had a big group of fish and some birds feeding on something 30 yard in front of me, I tried everything i had and was getting absolutely nothing. Until i remembered watching this and that id bought some sandeel flies and made a crude variation of your rig to try. Stuck it on Infront of my favourite hard lure and bam straight away fish on after a few turns of the handle. It went on like this for the next 45min catching fish upto 55cm nearly every other cast. Will definately make some myself and be using again. cheers and tight lines 🎣

Hi Marcin really great videos keep it up so pleasing to still see someone using Red Gills, these lures were developed by my late father the concept for the tail came from him watching jet fighters landing and deploying a parachute, The family unfortunately sold the company several years ago but it looks like the new owners have moved forward with lure designs. I feel like I would like to get back into lure development myself in the near future as this seems to be an ever expanding market you really seem blessed with an amazing fishery over there 👍🏼

wow Ian, that's amazing, thanks for coming over here and commenting. I do use red gill for years and even been chatting to the new owners about options moving it forward. You should definitely pursue that, if it's an option. I would love to learn more if you do!

@@MarcinKantor I pretty much kept it the same size as you showed in the video unless I knew I was in an area with big bass. I did switch to a 5inch sand eel fly once above an 8inch Lunker City Slug-Go and landed a decent fish of 32inches on the teaser! You should definitely cross the pond sometime and give it a try! Another good video Marcin,good point regarding shallow or weedy ground,another downside is that sometimes when a Bass takes the teaser the main lure can get dragged about and hook up in the weed or rocks and you end up losing both lures and the fish.But yes,teasers are very successful,they also work very well when fly fishing for Salmon or Sea Trout.
@MarcinKantor3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Pete, yes 100%. While it hasn't happened to me I forgot to explain to fight fish hard and away from snags. Well pointed 👍 I haven't seen it used for salmon, can you explain? Just a dropper fly above the point one?
@petegordon80193 жыл бұрын
@@MarcinKantor Yes Marcin,just tie a small shrimp like fly New Zealand style about 3 ft up from your point fly,obviously it must be smaller and lighter than your point fly.Alternatively a foam type fly such as a Fat Albert or Chubby Chernobyl can be used and will cause a disturbance on the surface and can draw the Salmon up to take the point fly.

I wonder whether this might work with a short soft plastic as a teaser?

tried that John, I found with the slow movement the plastic was not working

Hi Marcin, late to the party, but this is awesome! Would love to know where you get the fly from and any suggestions for a good rod for a 2500 reel. Thanks.
@MarcinKantor2 жыл бұрын
Jonny, PM me on social media, I'll give you details of the lad who ties my teasers! My best rods are Favorite Skyline, I helped designing some, they're really good. 2500 is too small for that imo, it will go in no time. 3000 or even 4000. Shimanos for sure, depending on your budget

I love it! Have you tried it with offset hook and weedless soft plastic instead of a fly?
@MarcinKantor2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I use offset hook SPs behind the fly! To imitate a fish chasing the small fly.
@freemansmith Жыл бұрын
I used your method and it certainly induces more hits, however I do find not all hookup. Do you think this is where the fish are hitting the teaser? They do have a 1/0 hook
@MarcinKantor Жыл бұрын
Hard to say. Bass often stun the bait fish by flairing their Gill plates without the intention the get the Lure inside their mouth right away... Maybe it's the hook size? My teasers would be size 6 or size 8 hooks

Hey can I ask you what chest wadders do you use when moving about on the hunt for bass?

Wychwood gorge SDS are very good, also use a pair of vision Koski

Hi Marcin, great videos and just realised we have a mutual fishing companion in Charles Nelson…. Do you have a link to the fly you are using as the teaser. I can only seem to find short shank hooks or hook shanks that are coated in Mylar etc. I’m even considering attempting tying my own but I’d rather they didn’t look as though a five year old has tied them !
@MarcinKantor3 жыл бұрын
hahahaha, better not :) Yes, Charles is a gent! drop me a message via social media and I will share details of the person who ties my own flies for me
@richardjones2811 Жыл бұрын
An easier way is braid to mini link, fluoro from mini link to lure and just clip the teaser fly to the mini link.
@MarcinKantor Жыл бұрын
Yeah that would work too

a friend of mine her ein Ireland ties them, if you reach via PM I can share his details

great video and i want to try this, but can i ask..... do you need to make the fly AFTER you have used tied the flouro knot? eg. tie up a bare hook, then add feathers etc yourself? i have a few bass flies, but there is no room on the hook to tie this knot to them???
@MarcinKantor Жыл бұрын
No. You tie it to the ready made fly but you need to have the right fly on the right hook
@wacodizzy2 жыл бұрын
Great video, I will give this a try for sure! Would you have any tips on which brand sells these teaser lures?

@wacodizzy Жыл бұрын
@@MarcinKantor I did a bit more research and saw a video from a guy which used a similar setup as yours, but attached the teaser using a twisted dropper loop. This creates some extra distance between the fly and the leader line. This could make this rig also very usable for other fish which risk damaging the leader faster, I would think.
@MarcinKantor Жыл бұрын
Good info. Just one bit to be aware off is shallow grounds. The tag can get caught easier if your fishing over kelps and rocks
@jamiewalters77503 жыл бұрын
Very informative Marcin, I'm just starting with looking for Bass from My local water so any method for increasing catches and the knowledge of how and why is appreciated. I guess if they miss the fly they may take the lure out of aggressive behavior. Tight lines
@MarcinKantor3 жыл бұрын
Glad to help Jamie, and good luck. Most fish will still go for the lure, but it certainly boost the whole setup up
@cblaster1714 ай бұрын
What about using a dropshot knot? The fly would stand off at a right angle to the line, would that affect the presentation?
@MarcinKantor4 ай бұрын
I found it was catching more weed and less safe when playing a fish hooked on the lure
