They are not "accidents", they are crashes/collisions. Do you think if plane crashes would be called "plane accidents" then the air transport would be as safe as it it is today? No, the reason why air travel is so safe, because every crash is investigated, fixed and makes news coverage. Stop underestimating the think by calling it a "accident".
