I honestly don't get why Americans are so lax with their gun laws. The increasing number of shooting incidents should really be assessed and the law needs to be changed.

Isn't giving christina the death penalty giving her what she wants. Killing someone who was on the verge of death isn't a punishment. Forcing her to live would be the punishment
@kikineeks20 күн бұрын
You can be on death row for a while (some die naturally before the penalty is enforced) and the sentence is horrible. You’re generally in solitude, more restrictions on visitation and exercise, you don’t get “benefits” like other prisoners (like education or work) and a lot more. So in theory it would be an extra miserable existence before you “get what you want” and you get to live with the horrible thing you did. Strangely didn’t happen here. She wasn’t on death row long. Probably because of the notoriety

First story if she's mental, WHY was she allowed to have a gun?! Why was she not kept in place to get proper treatment?! I don't understand countries which allow people to buy gun just like that!

No matter how bad someone’s situation is, I find it very difficult to accept that a mother would kill her children, unless she was delusional or maybe very low IQ, but it doesn’t seem to be the case. At least it wasn’t mentioned. There’s more than depression to this.
@kikineeks20 күн бұрын
I think there was more going on with Christina. The fact that she seemed to genuinely believe she was doing the right thing tells me she was likely delusional
@davanamrita20 күн бұрын
@@kikineeks I’m not sure about that, because if someone is really crazy to the point that they kill their children, other people would notice she was crazy before getting to that point. There is another case in this series about a mother who killed her child and she was delusional and people noticed it but she was found guilty anyway, however it was more clear what the issue was. I agree though that some important pieces are missing here.

@@davanamrita Women who already suffer from mental illnesses are more likely to fall into deep postpartum depression that can lay dormant for years. Christina suffered repeated traumas as well, I think all of it became far too much for her. There are animals who kill their own babies when they think they are in danger, it is cases like Christina that make me believe this is an instinct women could also have. Obviously most mothers are not killers but a combination of delusions, trauma and poor mental health absolutely played a part.
@davanamrita10 күн бұрын
@@cyb3rfaerie Based on online research, long time postpartum depression is considered up to 3 years after giving birth, so it’s possible she was suffering from that related to the youngest child who was 2 at the time. But it seems infanticide relate to that is more common up to one year of age. It is also more difficult to accept that she would also kill the older, 5yo child. What’s more concerning is that the initial attempt was highly elaborate and planned, even if miscalculated. If she had just smothered them from the beginning it would look more acceptable, that she just snapped and took their lives, but that’s not what she did.

The question is how was she able to access all these drugs.

They probably stole it from the hospitals they worked at. Both Christina and Bobby Sue worked at hospitals. They need to better prevention mechanisms
